I said once I started watching the Pirates, they would start winning, but I can’t take all the credit for what transpired yesterday.
Pittsburg was losing 6-0, until Henry Davis gave the Pirates new life with a two-run homerun in the top of the sixth.
Then, it was the top of eighth inning, and the Diamond Backs were winning by four. Tommy Pham singled and drove in a run, it was 6-3. Isiah Kiner-Falefa stepped to the plate with the bases loaded, and he cleared them with a double.
The game was tied at 6!
The bleachers erupted, it was pandemonium; and then, the unthinkable happened. Brian Reynolds hit a three-run home run, and the Pirates finally took the lead. The score was 9-6 and, that’s the way it stayed until the end.
Pittsburgh won 9-6.
The starting pitchers:
Corbin Burnes for the Diamond Backs versus Mike Burrows.
