I’m going to share a little something that happened today that I thought was awesome.
In my new book Smorgasbord 2 Catch Up and Relish, there’s a story that’s spilt into two separate chapters, it’s called Witches In Heat, Part 1 and Part 2.
It’s about a guy, who gets taken back in time by a girl working at a local Farmer’s Market. While walking to the store to buy a new laptop for work, he comes across a barn that’s really a store selling fresh fruits and vegetables. His walk was a long one so he stopped at the barn to take a break, and while he was there he fell asleep. When he woke up there was a dark cloud overhead, and that’s when all the strangeness begins.
The inspiration for this story came from a day when I actually spilled coffee on my laptop. I didn’t have a car at the time so I walked to the local Target. On my way there I saw a red barn. I didn’t stop or anything, but that’s where the inspiration for the story came from.
Since writing that story I haven’t been back that way, but today, now that I have my car, I decided to drive over to where the Target is. On my way home, I passed the barn on my right, and there was a girl outside mowing the grass. The barn was open and they were selling flowers, and fresh fruit like raspberries and blueberries.
I had to stop! LOL
This will be amazing to you when you read the story in Smorgasbord 2, but I stopped. Without getting too in depth, many of the details written in the story were coming to fruition right in front of me. It was so eerie, especially when the raincloud rolled in, but like I said, when you read the story you’ll appreciate this post.
There’s a gas station near my house that I visit frequently because of the convenient store on the premises. There’s also a really cool gas pump on the property. It has a unique look, but it’s one all to familiar. So whenever I visit this gas station, I stand there looking at the pump trying to remember where I’ve seen it
And then it came to me.
How funny is that! I think it’s safe to assume the kerosene gas pump design was inspired by the 1985 Nintendo Robot. Pretty cool.
Don was getting lonely. He was aggravated and upset, and despite what he was trying to do, the reality was, his life was passing him by. Goddoo was an older cat in the neighborhood, and felt responsible for Don’s well being. Goddoo convinced Donahue to go to New Orleans with him, and he promised a time so good, Don was sure to get over his bitterness.
So here they were, two cats hanging out in Kansas now making their way over to the Missouri River. Goddoo works in mysterious ways, he and Don were floating along in a tube someone left on the river bank, and before the day’s end, they jumped ship onto a steamboat that was passing by.
As the steamboat came to its trails end, Don and Goddoo hopped off and headed into town for some good old fun. They had a wild evening. New Orleans was filled with lady cats and cat ladies looking for party beads, and Don met himself a beautiful short hair kitty. He called her Baby Magic, and she was into all types of voodoo. Baby magic was exotic with mixed ancestry, and she loved Don.
Once Goddoo saw Donahue and Baby Magic getting along, he slipped away and into the dark night for some fun of his own. As it turned out, Baby Magic was exactly what Don needed. She put a good spell on him to reverse all his troubles, and in the morning, he was a new man.
