😮 I think I originally watched the 48 Hours Episode, “Nothing is What it Seems,” a year or two ago on YouTube. It was about a Colorado couple, Barry and Suzanne Morphew. On Mother’s Day in 2020, Suzanne went missing, and her husband, Barry, was arrested and charged with suspicion of Murder and other charges in 2021.
After watching the entire episode, I couldn’t believe that Barry was even arrested. There were no eyewitness, no blood evidence, and Suzanne’s body was never found.
After reviewing the evidence, the judge at the time decided there was enough evidence to move forward with the case, but because the prosecution was negligent and reckless for failing to turn over evidence during the discovery period, fourteen witnesses could not testify for the prosecution.
Part of that evidence included male DNA found inside Suzanne’s home, in her car, and on her bike helmet. That evidence was matched to an unidentified male who was already being investigated for crimes against women in two other states. Eventually, the case against Barry was dismissed without prejudice, and Barry countersued for $15 million.
Well, In September of 2023, investigators found Suzanne’s skeletal remains. If you’ve been following the trial, then you remember that whole thing with the tranquilizer. Interestingly enough, the autopsy found a combination of drugs used by hunters to tranquilize wildlife in one of Suzanne’s bones. Barry was just arrested again on June 20th.
I originally believed Barry was innocent, especially after that DNA was found, but it’s going to be interesting to see how this case ends.
⚾ The MLB All-Star Game is scheduled for Tuesday, July 15th, at 8 o’clock p.m. Paul Skenes, who was selected first overall in the 2023 MLB Draft by the Pittsburgh Pirates, was just named starting pitcher for the National League for the second year in a row.
🤣 A streaming service named Hulu will be running the reboot of King of The Hill starting on August 4th. From what I read, Hank, Bobby, and Peggy moved to Saudi Arabia for two years, Bobby is all grown up and has a chef job at a fusion restaurant, and Bill Dauterive is struggling with health issues.
Unfortunately, the character who played John Redcorn was murdered in real life, so I don’t know how they’re going to tie up that loose end. It would suck if Jospeh remained in the dark concerning the identity of his real father.
I also just saw, Johnny Hardwick, the actor who does the voice for Dale, died in 2023. He was 64.
I was a late on the King of Hill series, but I’m looking forward to the reboot. Gosh, it has been fifteen years!
🏈 I can’t even believe this, but the 2025 NFL Season is all set to begin at the end of this month. The NFL preseason begins with the Hall of Fame Game on July 31st at 8 p.m. This year’s game is between the Los Angeles Chargers and the Detroit Lions.
☸ Currently, the Sun is in the astrological sign, Cancer. The Moon is in its Waning Gibbous phase, 90% illuminated in Aquarius. The New Moon will be on July 24th in Leo.
