Nooz Now

August 13, 2025 Edition

During the fall of 2023, I published a weekly preview for the Big Ten college football conference, and in that preview, I presented a comprehensive game by game breakdown for all the games involving Big Ten teams. At the end of it all, I offered my picks-my picks straight up, and my picks versus the point spread.

It was a success, and I knew it would be. In forty-seven games, I picked the winning team forty times, and I was 29-17-1 versus the point spread.

I skipped the 2024 season, but I’d like to get back into it this September. If I do, I’m going to prepare for a week 3 start. Week 3 is September 8-14th, and games will be played on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday that week, which is the 11th, 12th, and 13th of September.

If you like to bet on college football, or if you’re a college football fan in general, you’ll want to check this out. I made people a lot of money in 2023!

This college football season is going to be a good one, and the Big Ten conference has six teams ranked in the AP Top 25. There’s a lot of competitive football to be played. Don’t miss out!

🔯 The astrology for the moment looks something like this: the Sun is on the 21st degree of Leo, and the Moon is on the 21st degree of Aries. The Moon culminated in Aquarius on Augustus 9th and is currently waning.

📺 King of the Hill has been off the air for 15 years, and although its reboot scheduled for August 4th on Hulu was highly anticipated, I guess no one really knew what to expect. Well, in its first seven days streaming, King of the Hill reached 4.5 million views! That’s pretty darn good.

🎬 There was an article published on Yahoo Entertainment, titled Sylvester Stallone Hands Over Iconic Rambo Role to 29-year-old Up-and-Coming Actor.

Now, I didn’t read the article because Yahoo news is shit, but I’m sitting here asking myself, “What’s with all this remake business?”

I’m all about creativity, and I’m all about originality. I’m sorry, but I don’t support remakes, and I don’t support this handing over business. If you’re not creative enough to come up with fresh ideas and new movies with new characters, then maybe you’re in the wrong business.

Just to name a few, they did it with the Karate Kid, Conan the Barbarian, Annie (really?), Red Dawn, Chevy Chase’s, National Lampoon’s Vacation, and most recently, The Running Man (An Arnold Schwarzenegger Classic).

The 80s was a decade like forty years in the past. I want to see new actors making new movies-not remaking old movies. Anyway..

🥊 UFC 319 is coming up on August 16th. The main event is the Middleweight Title Bout between Khamzat Chimaev and Dricus Du Plessis. That, without a doubt, will be a very good fight.

Gosh, I remember watching the UFC when I was in middle school. It was a pay-per-view event! Do they still have that service? Pay-per-view was awesome.

Anyway, the UFC was just beginning then, and I know I missed UFC 1, but everyone was talking about it in school, “There’s this crazy new sport on television where two guys go into a cage and fight!”

LOL, so, I convinced my parents to purchase UFC 2. There were no rounds back then, no one wore gloves, and there weren’t any weight classes. Boy, things have changed, right?

🏈 Have you guys heard about St. Thomas Aquinas, one of the best high school football programs in the state of Florida? They’re flying 4,000 miles to play another high school team in London.

Wow. I mean, this is an exciting experience that these young kids will never forget, but I don’t understand the reasoning behind this decision.

First of all, football is an American game, so are you telling me that London is now copying us? Now, I know the NFL has been scheduling games in London since 2007, and I can remember asking myself why they would go all the way to London to play a game, but now it’s starting to make sense, and my guess is that the American football game is attempting to go global because greedy Goodell is trying to capitalize on an international market.

Whatever. That’s the professional level, and that’s business.

High school is a little different. I’m sure there are high school football programs right here in the United States that would love to have St. Thomas Aquinas on their schedule.

I’d like to know why this game in London was scheduled.

Hey!

Have a wonderful evening everyone, and thanks for visiting Nooz Buffet!
