There’s a book out titled Feeling Good The New Mood Therepy.Β  The author is David D. Burns, and he claims anxiety, guilt, pessimism, low self-esteem, and other black holes of depression can be cured without drugs.

Below, I’ve rewritten his list, and it’s actually really good.Β  If any of those issues above are a concern for you then it might be a good idea to copy this list into a personal journal and keep up to date with it.

  1. Recognize what causes your mood swings.Β  (Write them down as they happen.)
  2. Nip negative feelings in the bud. (As soon as you feel them, push through.Β  Talk positive to yourself.)
  3. Deal with guilt
  4. Handle hostility and criticism
  5. Overcome addiction to love and approval.
  6. Build self esteem.
  7. Feel good every day.

If you can make sense out of this list then you’ll probably get a lot out of it.Β  Even though you might be plagued with some of those issues you can overcome them if you’re honest with yourself.Β  Those tips written in parentheses next to numbers 1 and 2, we’re added by me.
