Candle Magik; Part Two

June 1, 2025

If you scroll down the Nooz Buffet home page, you’ll see an article I posted on May 29th, titled Candle Magik. I had absolutely no intentions of writing a part two to that until about ten minutes ago.

I saw a teachable moment, and I couldn’t let it pass.

So, on the right is a picture of the candle. I purchased this specific candle (type and color) with intent, and the intent was health and healing. I was going to burn it for someone who was in the hospital having surgery, but before I burned it, I carved runic symbols into it, which corresponded with my intent.

I also rolled it in Thyme and blessed it. This candle was lit on the 29th, and the flame just burned out today. That’s almost three days.

Now, when a candle is done burning, you have to leave everything the way it is if you’re planning on doing any form of divination. Personally, I actually wasn’t, but when I looked at the candle, I saw a clear sign in it.

After the smoke cleared, I looked down at the waxy remains, and the message was obvious-well to me anyway.

I saw 🌘 a waxing crescent moon! How about that? If you’re at all interested in this and following, I’m guessing the waning crescent phase of this current lunar cycle is going to be important somehow.

That could be Thursday June 19th to Tuesday June 24th. That’s six days and the moon will be in Aries on the 19th and 20th, Taurus on the 20th and 21st, and Gemini on the 23rd and 24th.

The cycle closes out on the 24th and we’ll have a new moon in Cancer on the 25th.

Wow!

Whenever I’m doing candle magik, and the candle is done burning, I collect everything-all the remains, and I’ll either bury them or toss them into some form of water.

This time, however, I might wait until June 19th. And I’m not exactly sure what I’m going to do with the remains this time. Let’s see what that universe wants, and maybe, I’ll write a part three.

Candle Magik

May 29, 2025

Good afternoon, friends. Someone close to me isn’t feeling well, and he’s actually having surgery done tomorrow. In addition to the prayers I’ve said for him, I also wanted to light a candle.

This isn’t, however, your average everyday candle lighting; it’s more candle magik. In this case, it’s important to begin with intent. Intent is everything. I went to the dollar store, and I bought a white candle for $1.25, but I already knew why and for what purpose I was buying this candle.

That’s a lot different than going to the store and picking up a candle nonchalantly.

The color of the candle is important, as is the type of candle, and my intent for purchasing this candle is for health and healing. The next thing I do is pick out the runic symbols that correlate with my intent, and again, it’s health and healing.

With a knife, I carve the runic symbols into the candle, and then to make the symbols more prominent, I fill in the grooves with black paint. The color of paint is significant.

The next step is to pick any herbs that correlate with my intent, and for this candle, I’m using Thyme. I poured out my Thyme into an open file folder, and the reason why I’m using an open file folder is to prevent a mess.

An open file folder gives me enough room to roll the candle thoroughly back and forth so the herb sticks to the candle.

At this point, the candle is pretty much prepared, and the only thing left for me to do is bless it.

So, this specific candle (color and type) was picked with intent, it was marked with runic symbols, rolled in Thyme, and blessed.

It’s now ready to be lit by itself or used in ritual or ceremony.
