Nooz Now

December 12, 2023 Edition

The 2024 NFL Draft is scheduled for the 25th through the 27th of April, but a look ahead has definitely revealed some excitement for Pittsburgh Steeler fans.

If, and I say if, he’s still available when it’s time for the Steelers to make their first selection, it’s likely they’ll use their 14th pick to acquire WR, Rome Odunze.

I’ve given Rome Odunze the nickname, “Oh Dooms Day,” because he has been a nightmare for opposing defenses this season. Odunze is a star wide receiver for the Washington Huskies. At 6’3″, and 215 pounds, Odunze is big, fast, and physical. After thirteen games, in which Washington finished with a perfect 13-0 record, he caught 81 balls for 1,428 yards and 13 touchdowns.

Washington, currently, is 13-0 and ranked 2nd in the AP Top 25. They had standouts in several positions this season, and one of those was the man responsible for getting Odunze the ball. Quarterback, Michael Penis Jr., was a Heisman Trophy finalist, and obviously one of the best quarterbacks in the country. The Heisman was ultimately awarded to LSU QB, Jayden Daniels on December 9th, but Penix was nothing short of brilliant this season.

He threw for over 4,200 yards and 33 touchdowns. Not bad at all.

This college football season was exciting and fun to watch, and it’s going to be interesting to see where some of this top talent goes in April.
