Moon Scope; Sagittarius Rising as Full Moon Illuminates First House

June 29, 2026

Good evening beloved!

It’s the twenty-ninth day of June, we’re about one week deep into the summer season, and clear skies this evening should reveal big bright Moon that’s 100% illuminated. Yup, it’s a full moon, and the chart pulled for this reading showed Sagittarius rising with a First House Moon in Capricorn.

Usually, I don’t mention the rising sign in the Moon Scope readings, but because of where this Ascendent is located, I decided to. I call it the line of power, and it runs from the Eye of the Centaur deep in the Sagitta Constellation (15th degree of Sagittarius) to the foot of Orion in Gemini on the 15th degree.

The Ascendent in this chart is actually on the 14th degree of Sagittarius, but that’s close enough. The Sabian Symbol for the 14th degree of Sagittarius is, The Pyramids and the Sphinx, and this is about reclaiming old knowledge.

As unbelievable as what I’m about to tell you might sound, it’s true. A friend of mine went camping last week, and while she was there, she found a book that she quickly picked up because she said it was something that I’d be interested in. Well, I saw her today, she gave me the book, and it was all about Kundalini awakening.

So, to receive that book, and then come home and pull a chart for this reading that shows the Ascendent on the 14th degree of Sagittarius (Old Knowledge) reveals that we’re right in synch! She just dropped old knowledge in my lap.

The position of the Ascendent could have us feeling a bit nostalgic now, and some of us I can tell you for sure, do have a connection to the past. Some people wall themselves off from the past, and others feel like they’re stuck in the past, or like the past is calling them in some weird way. Personally, I’m not sure walling off is a good idea, especially if you’re feeling pulled or compelled to research or go back to something.

Even the planets double back during their retrograde periods to make sure all is well before going direct.

With the Moon in the First House, there’s no denying it; the spotlight is on us right now. We’re committed to our work, we’re committed to our responsibilities, and we’re taking a practical and grounded approach when dealing with issues involving the public, but as the saying goes, “All Work and no Play Makes Jack Dull Boy.”

The Ascendent on the 14th degree of Sagittarius is pulling on our adventurous spirit, and well, those Sagittarian Fires can be hard to resist. There’s a real need to get out and explore, and the trine connecting the Ascendent to Venus in Leo highlights a legitimate love for expansion and acquiring new things.

It’s like optimistic and generous Sagittarius is pleading with serious-Saturn-ruled-Capricorn to open up to new things. The Moon represents our emotional body and how we react or respond to things, and in Capricorn, there can be a little melancholy or feelings of doom and gloom.

In Sagittarius, the Ascendent is reminding us, “Hey, it’s summertime!” Go out and have some fun.

The good thing about the Moon in Capricorn in the First House is that it gives us a real thorough approach to our work and personal tasks.

The Moon in Capricorn in the First House, the North Node in Pisces in the Third House, and Venus in Leo in the Eighth House indicates some kind of deep studying, but not just deep studying, a love of deep studying but more like investigative studies into spiritual matters or religious doctrine. We might really want to dive into the esoteric, the occult, and things like death, the afterlife, and reincarnation. We have a thirst for knowledge now, real knowledge; not an agenda driven school curriculum.

We seek out the guru and the master to find answers to questions that might’ve been on our minds for a very long time. Suddenly, we’re opening up. The walls are coming down, and we realize it doesn’t always have to be business as usual.

We might take a short trip, or we might act on impulse to feel alive or to remember a feeling we haven’t felt in a while. It’s all good. Nothing bad here.

Tonight, and during the next two days, we could find something out about ourselves that might shock us. It might be a latent skill, ability, or talent. It could be an interest in a subject that we might actually pursue feverishly at the time of the new moon, or it could be something that we’ve been ignoring or suppressing that finally rises to the surface.

With the Moon in Capricorn in the First House, we can do great work. We have the patience and the persistence to outthink and outlast anyone who challenges us. The question right now is where to direct our focus. Is it on the mundane everyday clock punching routine, or is it on this exciting new challenge that seems to have been pulling at our attention?

If you really don’t know, the path will become clear over the next three days.
