Yesterday’s Interception

April 19, 2026

At approximately 8:50 a.m. yesterday morning, an interception locked Libra in the astrological Fifth House. In astrology, an interception is when the entire 30 degrees of a sign is contained within a single house, and I know for some, this might seem confusing, but it’s really not once you know that the astrological houses can vary in size.

If you ever looked at your birth chart, then I’m sure you’ve noticed that some houses are bigger than others, and personally I’ve seen some houses expand to about 38 degrees, but it’s this expansion that can swallow up a 30-degree segment containing a member of the zodiac.

When you see an interception in a chart, it means that there’s a lesson associated with the signs, houses, and planets involved that must be learned. It’s karmic, and I read somewhere that we actually made an agreement (soul contract) to experience, learn, and finally move on. We promised, and because we promised, there’s no way out of it or around it.

This interception locking Libra in the Fifth House (and Aries in the Eleventh) connects the qualities of Libra to the House of Short-Term Pleasure, and with Libra, we’re talking about balance, harmony, truth, justice, and love.

When I see Libra in the Fifth House, it reminds me of the search or the process by which an artist connects with his art. I always believed that in order for an individual to be successful at something, they should love it, and whenever you see a successful or a popular artist at work, it’s so easy to see the love they have for the piece they’re working and the art form itself.

They make it look so easy, so much so, that it causes the rest of us to question ourselves, “What do I love? How do I find it? Do I have some latent talent for music or painting?”

The answers to those questions are within you, and they have to be discovered by you. No one can give you those answers. You must find them for yourself.

Interestingly enough, I was just about to say, “You must find them for yourself, by yourself,” but maybe that’s not always true. We often make discoveries about ourselves through our interactions with others, and I’m not talking about using or manipulating people for our own personal gain.

I’m talking about the power of love. How many people throughout history have been inspired to produce something powerful after a breakup? How many poems and books have been written? How many songs have been sung?

More than we know is the answer, but the point I’m making is that it’s our sincere and innocent involvement with the other that often leads to some amazing discovery about ourselves, and that’s one of things that Libra symbolizes in the Fifth House. The Scale can’t function properly without both sides.

Now, let’s look at this from a different perspective. The Fifth House is naturally ruled by Leo and the Sun. It’s such a beautiful house, it’s bright and sunny, and filled with love. It’s about personal pleasures, things we do for fun and enjoyment, procreation, and artistic endeavors.

What if you found your love in the Fifth House, but you’ve been unable to enjoy yourself because maybe someone (the other) has been manipulating you or sabotaging your work?

Well, Libra in the Fifth House would ultimately indicate justice, and at the end of the day, you will connect with whatever it is you love, and you will produce great work because that’s your destiny.

This alignment could manifest in so many different ways, but instead of going through all of them, I’m going to leave you with a short list of some important things to remember.

  1. Art is a form of personal expression. You should love what you do whole heartedly, and if you do, your work will be authentic.
  2. The Fifth House can become a battleground because the experimentation of short-term pleasures often leads to addiction issues. Libra’s interception there could be a reminder that your life needs balance. Addictions to alcohol, drugs, gambling, and sex can rob you of everything you love (friends, family, spouse, children, career, and home). At some point, you must wake up to maturity, personal evolution and growth, and the realities of the Eleventh House.
  3. Libra locked in the Fifth House can indicate that someone close to you might be a bad influence on you. This could be a business partner/boss, a friend, or a lover. Aries locked in Eleventh House (especially if the North Node is there) indicates you must begin to distance yourself from the other (as hard as that might be) to pursue what’s important to you as an individual.
  4. If you’ve been a starving artist for years and years because you’ve been isolating yourself, Libra in the Fifth House indicates that there’s someone out there who can help you. Life is often about the meaningful connections we make with others.

It’s a short list, but it’s a start. If you have an interception in your natal chart, and you would like an interpretation, please reach out to me. I would love to work with you.

As far as the interception goes, remember, if Libra is locked in the Fifth House, then Aries, the sign opposite Libra, will be locked in the Eleventh House. This is how interceptions work because the six houses below the horizon are a mirror image of the six houses above the horizon.

Astrological Interception

October 14, 2024

I read that an interception in the natal chart represents some type of skill or an ability that we abused in a previous life.

By abused, I mean, we had a tremendous ability, but we used it in a not-so-good way, so it’s off limits to us in this life.

I have an interception of my own, which is Gemini in the eleventh and Sagittarius in the fifth, so, after considering that and reading an interview with Cal Garrison last week, who actually has the same signs intercepted only hers are in the twelfth and sixth, I have a different belief about what the interception represents.

After analyzing a chart for a client recently, who had an interception involving Pisces in the eleventh house, and Virgo in the fifth, I truly believe that interceptions are tied in to and heavily related to the nodal axis, Chiron, and karmic lessons.

I found that after studying the nodal axis and the interception, I was able to check my results by researching her Chiron placement (sign and house).  And this happened accidentally.

I actually skipped the interpretation of Chiron, and when I went back to include it in my reading, I realized all the information Chiron’s placement revealed, I had already covered.

Wow, I said to myself.  Interesting!

So, from what I know now, I can say with confidence that we absolutely do have access to intercepted energy, although sometimes, part of it could be delayed.

Here’s a great example of what I mean.  The client with Pisces in the eleventh house and Virgo in the fifth had an interesting dynamic.

The eleventh house is a future house, and the fifth house deals with the short-term, and some would say it represents the ongoing now moment.

Virgo is the sign of consciousness, so this particular situation with two different energies locked in their own houses revealed a situation where the Pisces end of that polarity was being delayed.

The eleventh house also represents the special gift we’re given in this life.  Through Pisces in the eleventh, her gift was compassion, but her reception of that gift was being divinely delayed until her consciousness developed (Virgo fifth house).

Once her consciousness develops to a level where she could see herself objectively, hold herself accountable, and take responsibility for her own actions, it would open the door to the eleventh house and release her special gift.

The Gods want to make sure this person is sincere and genuine first because a lot of harm can be done by someone who’s pretending to be compassionate just to get what they want.

In addition to delayed energy, the interception represents an ongoing balance of polarities that a person may or may not be aware of.

It’s really about a lesson that we are destined to learn in this life no matter what.  That’s right, destiny is involved here, and the interceptions are known to create predictable patterns of synchronicities.

For example, a person might keep finding themselves in a situation that seems to keep happening to them.  This will occur to the point that the individual knows it’s coming.

When this happens, it means we’re resisting something, but believe you me, one way or another, they’re going learn, and their destiny path will unfold.

So, yeah, interceptions are tied into healing and karma, and the energy involved is actually an important part of this lifetime.

Have a blessed Moon-Day!
