The full moon scheduled for August 28th will reach peak illumination at 12:18 AM, and there’s a couple of reasons why this is awesome. Eighteen minutes after midnight is usually a time of the day where we can get privacy and quietness if we need it. Without any interruptions and a clear sky, 12:18 AM becomes the perfect time to meditate and or star gaze if you chose to. You can relax and take in the moment, and I think it would be wise to do just that because the full moon coming up in four days will be the last full moon of the summer. That’s right! We’ll be about one week into fall when the next full moon occurs, so it’s an important one.
Now, listen carefully. During the years leading up to “the end of the world,” (as predicted by the ancient Mayans on December 21, 2012), and for several years after, I was intrigued with lunar time. Then, around 2015 or 2016 I decided to give it a rest and let it go.
As of last week, which puts about ten years in between, I decided to dive back into it, and I’m sharing this with all of you because I know that some of my readers are fascinated with the lunar calendar. Perhaps, some of you will follow along. Right now, August 24th is the 2nd day of the second month, and we’re in year 1 obviously because we just started keeping track of time. I don’t know why the sudden interest in this again, but the full moon has always been a time of prophecy and revelation.
If a thought or an idea comes to you around the time of the moon, don’t let it drift away in the watery current that is thought. Make sure you grab on to it and go with the flow.
The Lunar Calendar is super-interesting, and I have it pictured on the right so you can see it for yourself. The year begins on July 26th, and it technically ends on July 24th. July 25th is set aside as a special day “out of time” that appears to be some kind of break or transition period between the old and new year.
There are thirteen months in this calendar, and each month contains 28 days. This is, without a doubt, an alternate time keeping system, and it’s used to realign human activity with natural, lunar, and galactic rhythms.
From this point forward, I’m going to use this lunar calendar to keep track of the lunar cycles, so, the full moon occurring on August 28th will actually be on day six of the second month. The main reason why I’m doing it this way from now on is because I think it will be more accurate in the long run, and I think manually tracking the moon through her phases in any given cycle will be fun. I don’t know, call me crazy. 🤪 I know it sounds a little confusing, but don’t worry. The Lunar Calendar will not complicate the Moon Scope readings in any way. It’s just going to be a behind the scenes time keeping method for me to track the moon.
Okay, let’s get to the fun stuff.
Friday morning at 12:18 AM the full moon will be located on the 5th degree of Pisces in the Tenth House, but this chart in general is pretty amazing. When I first looked at it, two things immediately caught my attention. The first thing is the horizon line running dead center across the circle connecting the Ascendant on the 15th degree of Gemini to the Descendant on the 15th degree of Sagittarius.
I’ve talked extensively about the 15th degree of Gemini and Sagittarius because it’s a line of power coming from the eye of the centaur in the Sagitta constellation to the foot of Orion. Most charts don’t have that axis highlighted, but this chart does, and it’s happening while the Moon is reaching peak illumination! For a few moments Friday morning, the horizon with split the zodiac perfectly in half.
Ten degrees above the horizon on the 5th degree of Gemini is Uranus. The four days leading up to the full moon and the four days after seems to be an incredibly important time marked by unpredictability and powerfully meaningful communication as Mercury is the chart ruler.
The second thing I noticed immediately was the position of the Moon’s Nodal axis and the conjunctions formed with the both the Sun and Moon, which by the way, are opposing one another. Wow!
The North Node is located on the 29th degree of Aquarius, and the South Node is aligned opposite on the same degree of Leo. The 29th degree of Aquarius and the 29th degree of Leo is a location that, through my studies, has gained a tremendous amount of importance, and I’m going to explain why. A Grand Cycle, which is another term for the Precession of the Equinox, is a period of time that lasts 25, 920 years. It’s a major cycle of time that includes all twelve astrological ages, and it begins on the 29th degree of Aquarius!
We are in a Grand Cycle right now that began roughly 23, 820 years ago on that cusp line between the beginning of Pisces and the end of Aquarius and will culminate in the year 2100. That means, that in the year 2100, which is only 74 years away, we will officially leave the age of Pisces and enter the Astrological Age of Aquarius, and at the same time, begin a brand-new Grand Cycle (A new 25, 920-year period).
Now, as 29th degree of Aquarius is important because it’s the starting point, that makes the cusp line between the beginning of Virgo and the end of Leo almost as important because it marks the halfway point in the Grand Cycle and the beginning of our 13,000-year descent into darkness as we move away from the light of the Galactic Center.
The 29th degree of Leo and the 29th degree of Aquarius are markers of the passage of time. To have the Moon’s North Node, which represents the future, on the 29th degree of Aquarius, and the Moon’s South Node, which represents the past, in Leo on the 29th degree, indicates that this chart contains much more than the astrological alignment of the moment. It contains revelations and hidden nuances concerning our future and our ancient past.
Also, the Moon in this chart is conjunct the North Node, and the Sun is conjunct the South Node, which puts both luminaries in opposition to one another. This is a really powerful chart, and to top it all off, any time the new or full moon is near a nodal point, it’s an indication that an eclipse is going to happen. I didn’t research eclipses for the early morning of the 28th, but the position of the moon (since it’s full) near the North Node does indicate eclipse.
There’s a lot going on, but let’s start here.
I do believe it was Jesus who said a very long time ago that we did not need to go to church, or become a member of an organized religion to have a relationship with God; we could do it alone, by ourselves, and in the privacy of our own dwellings.
Well, I have to tell you guys, that’s exactly what I see in this chart. We have Virgo, the sign of service in the Fourth House of Home, and in the Fourth House, we have the Moon’s South Node conjunct both the Sun and Mercury. From the Fourth House of Home, the conjunction connecting Mercury and the Sun is touching Pluto in Aquarius in the Ninth House and Neptune in Aries in the Eleventh House. And of course, this personal communion, that’s occurring on a soul level in privacy, is reaching out to the North Node in Pisces. Pisces represents the mysteries of the universe, everything that’s that out there and beyond, religion, belief, and faith.
Our home is truly our sanctuary, and in the privacy of our own homes, while we’re alone, we can talk to God and have a relationship with the Universe. How interesting is it to see the Goddess Astraea on the same degree as the Moon? Astraea was the last of the immortals to comingle with humans here on earth. If anyone understands the human condition, it’s Astraea.
I really like what I see in the Second House and Third House. Mars in Cancer in the Second House shows that we’re finally getting it when it comes to personal possessions, resources, and money. We’re extremely driven and ambitious when it comes to acquiring what need and want. Cancer could indicate an element of familiarity or comfortability, meaning that we might be able to acquire more and be more driven when we’re in our comfort zones or around things we’re familiar with. This could even be interpreted as were finally maturing and stepping into our power. We’re comfortable with ourselves and our skill set, and we’re not holding back anymore. The location of Mars here is also validated by the trine that connects it to the Moon in the Tenth House. The Tenth House represents our career and public life. Things seem to be coming our way at this time, and we’re having fun.
With Jupiter in Leo in the Third House, we could be experiencing significant growth and personal expansion in several different areas, however, I see this as a time when the relationships we have with distant familiar members can be repaired or strengthened. Perhaps, we get together to discuss our differences, or how things went down in the past at a time when we were young and vulnerable and incapable of defending ourselves. This is a good thing because even though no one wants to really rehash old, outdated stuff, it’s sometimes necessary to do so. All forms of communication are on the table now, and whichever method we chose, we’re effective. We grow from this experience, and we’re finally able to move forward.
The Moon in Pisces in the Tenth House highlights our career, our public life, and our reputation within our communities. In addition to all that, it might be important now for us to connect spiritually to what we do for a living. Making money is great, but when you’re making tons of money and you’re still unfulfilled, then there’s a deeper issue.
We also need to believe in what we’re doing, and we seem to be confronted with this issue of meaningless work. Did you ever have a job, and after a year, you were like, “I don’t know if I truly agree with what I’m doing.” The money is good, and I enjoy all the perks that come along with the job, but I’m not totally on board with the bigger picture.
That happens, and it happens more often than you think, which brings me to this issue of public reputation that’s always connected to the Tenth House. Based on what we do for a living, the people around us, our neighbors, and the people in our community have a certain belief about us. If you’re a teacher for example, then you’re someone special in the community. People have a certain perception of you because you have a college degree and you work with children, and it’s usually a good one, but they don’t know that you actually hate your job and your life at home is in ruins.
When you take the ambitious self-motivated and driven desire to make money and acquire the things you need and want and add it to the personal growth manifesting though Jupiter in the Third House, and then once again to the Moon in Pisces in the Tenth House, you have an individual who’s renewed through the faith and belief that he or she now has in what they’re doing. The is what success truly looks like when everything falls in line.
Many of us, right now, I feel like we’re finally coming out of this deep long dark slump. For many years we’ve been going through the motions because we truly haven’t found ourselves or our place.
It’s like we always knew we had it, and we always knew what we were capable of, but we never really knew how or where to direct our focus.
Well, we do now, and the future looks fantastic.
