Moon Scope; New Moon in Virgo Sets Stage for Equinox

September 7, 2026

Good evening, beloved. It is Monday, September 7th, and we’re looking forward to new lunar energy manifesting this week as the Moon turns new on Friday in Virgo.

Virgo is the sign of conscientiousness; not to be confused with consciousness. I know they sound similar and look similar, but they’re different. Conscientiousness is a personality trait that has to do with being careful and responsible, and as Friday approaches, the general vibe could be one of being overly conscientious.

Please, don’t misunderstand my words because there’s nothing wrong with being responsible. I’m looking more at the being careful part of this definition because the Virgo energy can be meticulous. There’s a lot of nervous energy too, so what this really manifests as is a person who’s being so careful, that they’re almost afraid of making a mistake. It can also manifest as an extreme pinpoint focus where we’re splitting hairs. The details are great, but it’s important that we don’t lose sight of the bigger picture now.

There’s a beautiful-bright conjunction with two degrees of separation involving the Sun and Moon in Virgo in the Second House, and after seeing the lunar North Node in the Seventh House, “Sometimes, all we have is each other,” is the phrase that immediately came to mind. The person you’re with right now, is the right person for you, and I know it doesn’t seem like that’s the case, but in the grand scheme of things, he/she is.

You see, with Leo on the horizon, there’s a lot of ego and personal pride that must be put aside. Over the years, you’ve had this ideal image of a mate in mind, and that’s what you chased. You often got it too! The point is that the person you’re with now might not fit that image. She might not have the super thin waste with the amazing rear, or the big curly hair with a gorgeous face. He might not have the six-pack abs with a bulging chest and chiseled jaw line.

He or she is not perfect according to your standards when it comes to physical attractiveness, and they might have some other faults as well, but don’t focus on all that stuff because it’s really unimportant. The bigger picture holds the truth, and it’s one that shows this person loves you, respects you, and treats you right.

Now, as we get back to the Sun/Moon conjunction in Virgo, I’m seeing it as an indication that we’re entirely on board with something. This conjoining of both our masculine and feminine side represents the connection between the mind and body, or the head and heart, and it’s 60 degrees away from Mars in Cancer in the Twelfth House.

Mars in the Twelfth House can represent a hidden enemy. This can be something or someone that’s still hiding, still masked, still creeping, still behind the curtain, and still in your blind spot. Some of us might be dealing with an enemy who hasn’t revealed himself yet, and because of the involvement of Virgo, it’s likely that some of us have spent a considerable amount of time and personal resources trying to figure out who this person is or trying to put an end to or resolve the damage that’s being caused by them.

What’s being attacked?

Well, because of the Second House, I’m going to say personal possessions, resources, or even money, but it could also be that someone is trying to seduce to charm our partners (wife, husband, girlfriend, boyfriend). Is someone trying to move in on your slam piece? Perhaps, but that’s small potatoes compared to what some of us might be going through at the moment. When there’s an enemy lurking in the Twelfth House, the damage is usually done before we have a chance to defend ourselves or protect what we own because we can’t see it and don’t have a clue that’s it’s coming.

I think, however, the key to understanding this situation actually lies in the sextile that’s connecting the Sun/Moon conjunction to Mars in the Twelfth House because I know (from years and years of studying) that a sextile, which is very fortunate and brings opportunity, needs to be activated, and it can’t be activated in an environment unless that environment is absolutely peaceful and positive.

So, now, I have to look at this from a different angle, and that viewpoint is in the Ninth House. Aries in the Ninth House reveals that we’re not only excited, but we’re also ready and willing to go the distance. We’re embracing the journey right now, whatever that may be, and we know because of Aries, that it’s going to require courage.

Saturn and Neptune are both in the Ninth House, but it’s Saturn that forms a square with Mars in the Twelfth House. When you look at this in reverse starting from Saturn, we have Saturn in the Ninth House squared Mars in the Twelfth, and Mars in the Twelfth sextile the Sun/Moon conjunction in the Second House.

There’s a blockage or an obstacle now that’s preventing Saturn’s ability to limit, reduce, or keep order over the fighting that’s going on in the Twelfth House. So, it appears to be that some of us have been (fighting) spending a lot of time, money, and resources for a very long time to keep something secret or hidden, but the cat is finally out of the bag. We can no longer go at this alone or take it on by ourselves.

Whatever this is, we’re finally ready to face it, and we have the right people in our corner to help us do it. We just need to muster up a little courage, and we’re good to go. We’re in it for the long haul, and the new moon on Friday represents the perfect time to start.

CONCLUSION

There’s a new lunar cycle beginning on Friday, September 11th in the astrological sign, Virgo. The energy this week in the days leading up to new moon could be serious, especially when it comes to Second House matters. We’re crossing the T’s and dotting the I’s when dealing with finances and personal possessions. We have an eye on everything and everything has a place.

As the autumn equinox approaches, we’re trying to ensure that we’re starting off on the right foot, or that we’re at least capable of putting our best foot forward. We want everything perfect and running smoothly, of course! Would Virgo want it any other way? There’s nothing wrong with striving for perfection, and there’s nothing wrong with digging and searching until we find what we’re looking for so long as you keep two things in perspective; one, perfection is unattainable until you’re capable of defining it, and two, with great power there comes an even greater responsibility. I know Virgo will be up to the task, but are you? What will you do with what you have when you find what you’ve been digging so long and hard for?

Thank you for visiting Nooz Buffet!

I’m wishing everyone a happy equinox and most productive new moon.
