7th House Illuminated by Powerful Conjunction

Hello everyone!

I hope you’re all having a wonderful day. The Sun is now on the 13th degree of Virgo, which means it’s almost halfway through its transit of the Virgin. Wow, that was fast. So, Mercury, the planet of communication and travel, is also in Virgo at the moment on the 14th degree.

This alignment between the Sun and Mercury is called a conjunction, and the degrees of separation vary with astrologers, but personally, I feel like the energy of two planets combined can hold power up until about 8 degrees. With 1 degree separating Mercury and the Sun, I’d say this connection is pretty potent.

Now, because Mercury, the Messenger of the Gods, is the ruling planet of Virgo, he’s home. Whenever a planet is in the sign it rules, its comfortable. I guess you could compare it to your favorite sports team playing at home versus on the road.

Both planets are in Virgo in the 7th House, and the 7th House is the area of the chart where the energies can manifest into the areas of our lives involving partnerships, marriages, contracts, and open enemies. Open enemies means those we’re familiar with, and these people are usually competitors.

Virgo is very technical and precise, so, as we begin to analyze the Sun/Mercury conjunction in this sign in the 7th House, we must focus our attention on the day to day mind. A lot of people don’t know this, but Mercury represents our everyday mind, not the subconscious mind.

There’s a huge boost coming our way involving precise communication. If you’re about to sign a contract of any type, make sure you read over all the details before signing. This could also be a lease for a rental, or any type of written agreement involving the transfer or the borrowing of goods or possessions.

For those couples who are engaged to be married, now is the perfect time to open up a conversation and discuss the details of your special day.

If you’re dating, and things are getting serious between the two of you, now is the time to speak to your partner about what you want and what you expect moving forward.

Virgo is also very analytical, industrious, and detail oriented. There could be lot’s of conversations involving details on how to be better or how to make things better or improve. If you’re on the brink of success or close to achieving personal goals, now is the time to fine tune things.

It’s definitely time to get rid of everything no longer serving a purpose and whatever is holding you back. Take this time to study the board in front of you, and gather the information you need.

Preparation and planning is the key, and when that moment arrives where you need to speak, write, compete, or make that presentation, you’ll not only be ready, but you’ll have the edge over your competition.

A conjunction between Mercury and the Sun in Virgo gives us exactly what we need to regain our edge.

Breakthrough! Astrology and Squares

There are many reasons for why I love astrology, but I enjoy something very specific about it. Through my spiritual path and journey of self-discovery, with astrology obviously being the tool, the more I learn about myself means the more I can help you learn about yourself.

Let’s start with the Sun. There’s lots to know about the Sun, but the most important thing to understand is that it represents the self, you. It also represents the father and those in authority.

There are tons of keywords, associations, parallels, and personifications when it comes to the planets, and sometimes it’s enough to make people close the book and walk away, believe me I get it.

But, if you take it on case by case basis, you’ll avoid that problem of feeling so overwhelmed that you become confused and discouraged.

For me personally, I’m trying to figure something out about myself in relation to authority figures, so that’s how I’ll interpret the sun in my chart.

What I’m looking at specifically is the square between my natal Sun and Uranus.

The Square is an aspect of 90 degrees. That means two planets are separated by 90 degrees, in this case it’s the Sun and Uranus. For those who don’t know, an aspect is the relationship between two planets or points in the chart. If you imagined the planets to be people, the aspect would describe their relationship.

Squares are challenging and stressful, they present obstacles, and teach lessons. But don’t get discouraged. Squares present the energy we need to achieve greatness. A person can develop tremendous drive and strength when they find ways to overcome.

All those sayings you hear like, “nothing worth having comes easy,” “seeing the sunshine sometimes requires us to travel through the rain” etc. That’s what the square is about.

To truly understand Uranus, you must keep in mind that it was discovered in 1786. That’s 10 years after America claimed independence. Uranus is the planet of change and originality. He’s revolutionary. He awakens and shocks and brings about sudden opportunities.

Uranus is in the 5th house of my chart. That’s the sector controlling creativity, short term pleasure, fun, and enjoying life.

So, I have a 7th house Sun squared with a 5th house Uranus. Uranus is exalted in my chart, and I’m an Aquarius (Uranus rules Aquarius) so fun, creativity, and pleasure can be had at the highest levels. At times they have been.

I think you can understand the relationship now with the sun, and that’s the breakthrough. A Sun in the house governing marriage, relationships, and open enemies, squared with a 5th house sun means basically, the devil’s giving you rope and it ain’t his fault if you hang yourself with it.

Also, because Libra rules the 7th house, harmony and balance come into the picture. I’m single and I’ve never been married, but I think if I find the right person, we can have a lot of fun together.

There’s so much more that goes along with this reading. What I wrote here is just the tip of the iceberg. Outside of myself, lets say the sun represents authority figures, then we can see the types of problems that can result from the energy present. Did Britain like when America claimed independence?

Authority figures like to maintain some form of control, some way more than others. So because of the square they’re not going to appreciate the sudden decisions, originality, and revolutionary nature of Uranus. When it comes to creativity, pleasure, and fun, there will always be obstacles. And there has been. This alignment and shared aspect is at the root of who I am and it is the focal point when it comes to fifth house matters and my relationship with authority figures.

Overcoming this alignment can bestow rare opportunities in life.

Where are the squares in your chart?

Moon Scope

August 3, 2002

Right now, the moon is at the top of the chart, in Libra in the 10th house. Tonight’s moon will be 6 days old, and it will be illuminated at 34% as a waxing crescent. This new moon phase began on the 28th of July.

In Libra, the moon becomes airy, methodical, and intellectual. Libra is the sign of balance, justice, and harmony, and its ruling planet is Venus. When the moon is in its waxing crescent phase, action is the key-word.

Before I get into this reading, I would like to mention a real world situation that seems to fall perfectly in sync with this alignment. Alex Jones, the host of Info Wars, is in court and I think he’s being sued by the families of the victims from the Sandy Hook shooting. I’m going to leave my personal opinions about the trial itself aside because that’s another story for another post. But, I brought it up because of the connections here. He’s being sued, and that involves justice and balance (Libra). He’s a popular podcast host, and his career and public image are both highlighted here in the 10th house.

Okay…

It’s 5:45 PM here on the east coast, and it’s 2:45 PM out on the west coast, and the timing is important for the house placement. The 10th house is the zone manifesting energy pertaining to our careers and public image. Patience is a quality of the moon that seems to be outside the realm of this current placement, but a little patience is always helpful. Keep it in the back of your mind and remind yourself to be patient if the need arises.

Your current career choice has been on your mind lately, but tonight, the time is right for you to make a move. The right career can bring harmony and balance to your life. If you’re in a career that’s destroying other areas of your life, then a change is necessary.

There is such a thing as work/life balance, and trust me, the wrong career can throw everything in your personal life out of whack. The moon’s placement favors intellectual work, so start moving on those resumes and get those applications filled out. Start applying to the jobs that represent who you are. You know yourself, you know your skill set, and you know what you’re capable of. Find something that fits you. You’ll be happy with a job when you’re abilities are being utilized.

The next order of business is your image. How does the public see you? How do your co-workers feel about you? Remember something, people are always going to talk about you, and people are always going to say things about you that aren’t true. Some people will talk about you behind your back.

The time is right for you to address those issues, and start righting the wrongs. Libra is a cardinal sign, and by nature, cardinal signs are stubborn. The energy of Libra is direct and action oriented.

In this situation, you’re right, and you know exactly what you’re talking about. You don’t need to get physical or beat anyone up. Your approach should be intellectual and patient. When you have your ducks in row, approach the person who’s talking about you, if it’s necessary, and let them know you know what they’ve been saying and you don’t appreciate it. There’s nothing wrong with speaking up for yourself, and right now, justice, balance, and harmony are called for.

Correct them, and correct the situation. As we get older we change. The people in your life now should support you and support what you are doing. If not, remove them. Harmony, balance, and justice; some people judge us by the company we keep. I’m not saying to get rid of a lifetime friend, I’m saying you need to make sure the people in your life have similar interests and goals.

With social media, you’re in total control. If you don’t like what people are saying about you, or the direction in which things are gong, then make the necessary changes. People on social media only know what you show and tell, so make sure you’re portraying yourself the way you want to be seen. If you take yourself seriously, and think highly of yourself, then more than likely, others will see you the same way.

It’s okay to have fun, but there’s a time for fun. This isn’t the time.

The other side to this is that you might be rewarded for your hard work and dedication. A boss or a manager might finally see you for the employee you are and the wonderful contributions you’ve been making. Perhaps, a well-deserved reward is coming your way. Even a pat on the back or a simple “Good Job” is recognition, and it could be just enough to bring harmony to a situation aggravated by underappreciation.

Balance and equality; are you being paid what you’re worth? Are you constantly being asked to go beyond what’s required? You’re only one person. Your job comes with a description. Check it out.

The hidden key to this reading is Venus’s placement in the Cancer in 7th house. Partnerships and marriage fall under the rule of the 7th house. Partnerships are important, especially when it comes to work.

It’s possible, highly possible, that you’ll meet someone-probably a co-worker, and he or she will be to one! Don’t underestimate the power of a partnership or marriage. The right person, when love is involved like it is now, can change your entire life.

People see you differently when you’re married. A loving partnership or a marriage can open doors for you in the professional arena that would otherwise be closed. Find that partnership or that lover that’s seems to be your answer for balance and harmony.

The seventh house is also the house of our known enemies, aka our competition. Compete. Prove yourself, show up on time, show up when you’re scheduled, and put 100% into whatever you’re doing. Watch how fast and for the better, your public image changes.

My friends, I’ll leave you this; don’t be afraid. Ask for what you want, strive to be the best, approach the person you’re interested in, address the problems and the imbalances, speak the truth, and fight for what’s right. If something is yours then claim it. In the cardinal sign of Libra and with the moon in its crescent phase, action is required and it’s necessary.
