It’s a Tug of War Between the Sun and Pluto

July 17, 2025

At 8:30 p.m., there was a lot of stress in the chart between the Sun, Pluto, and the Moon.

As you can see from my fabulous drawing, the horizontal axis connecting the ascendent and descendent run across the chart from the 28th degree of Capricorn to the 28th degree of Cancer. The opposition between those two points is natural.

However, four degrees below the ascendent is Pluto on the 2nd degree of Aquarius, and three degrees below the descendent is the Sun on the 25th degree of Cancer.

So, there’s an opposition between Pluto in Aquarius in the First House, and the Sun in Cancer in the Sixth House. The opposition is an aspect of tension, and for the two planets involved, it’s like a tug of war as both pull in opposite directions.

Oppositions almost always cause us to choose between one force or the other because we cannot have it both ways.

Pluto is the God of Emotional Encountering and the Eliminator. It’s a planet of tremendous power, and sitting so close to the ascendent like that, his energy will be influential right now.

The First House is the House of Self, it represents us personally, and Aquarius is the outgoing and friendly air sign representing intellect and humanitarianism.

With Aquarius we’re possibly dealing with large groups of people, and possible social movements. There’s going to be deep emotional experiences coming in through Pluto in Aquarius in the First House as we may or may not identify personally with such groups. These are the types of emotional experiences that motivate us to take action or make immediate changes in our lives. Aquarius brings the world’s stage and the collective to a house that would otherwise be personal or individualistic in nature.

We might be quick to pick up a sign and protest for what we believe in, or we might shun the groups representing what we don’t believe in. We’re getting in where we fit in, learning, and making the most out of our experiences. Pluto puts all the options on the table. Are you going to be a murderer? Are you going to be the CEO of a large corporation? An emperor? A Dictator? Are you going to exploit the group for personal gain, or is your heart sincerely down for the cause?

Pluto has a way of eliminating what no longer works, and he seems to do it in a way no one notices.

On the opposite side of all this, we have the Sun. The Sun represents our will, vitality, virility, dignity, warmth, and the force that gives life to everything around us. It’s our soul, the king in us, and the path of destiny.

The Sixth House deals with health, service, and work, and Cancer is the sign of loyalty, protection, and nurturing.

In the Sixth House, the Sun is putting a spotlight on issues close to home. It’s almost like we’re being forced to choose between the small town and the familiar stuff close to home that we’re used to, or taking a real chance at making your mark on the world.

Where does your loyalty lie? Maybe it’s time to let the larger issues of the world go, since they’re not directly affecting us, and turn our focus on the things close to home that are.

Health and faith. If you’re healthy, and if your beliefs are strong, you can go a long way. Conquering the world and fighting for the cause might be appealing now if you have both, but the real treasures you seek might be closer to home than you think.

Both, Pluto in Aquarius in the First House, and the Sun in Cancer in the Sixth House are being blocked by the Moon in Aries in the Third House.

We might not be getting the support from family members that we thought we would. Fighting and arguing with aunts and uncles could be draining us in the heat of this summer. Transportation could be an issue, and so could communications. Aries is the fiery sign of war and aggressions.

Think before you react to someone or something. Just take a second. The Moon in Aries could be a blessing, but it’s conflicting with the agendas of Pluto and the Sun. All is not lost however, because the obstacles presented in the square, give us the greatest opportunities to learn and grow.

Right now, it appears as if we need to make a choice and then deal with whatever comes from that decision, but a choice must be made.

Saturn Square Moon

June 25, 2025

I wanted to post this as a follow up to the Moon Scope article that went live at 3:00 am this morning. Yes, today is the beginning of a new lunar phase, which features a new moon in Cancer, and as of 3:00 pm this afternoon, the moon in Cancer in the Ninth House was 90 degrees away from Saturn in Aries in the Fifth House.

With Aries in the Fifth House there’s a focus on our role personally when it comes to things like having fun in the current moment. Through Cancer in the Ninth House, the moon has a lot to offer us, even if it is just a really long process leading down a really long road with love waiting at the end of it.

There’s a loving, caring, and nurturing energy now that seems to be the answer for the current situation, but we have to give it a chance. Nothing in the Ninth House comes quickly, and nothing comes easily. If you can, surrender yourself to this journey.

With Saturn in Aries in the Fifth House, we can see the manifestation of something questionable suddenly becoming a thing. What I mean by this is, for example, gambling is something most people do for fun. We go to the casino, and we spend money hoping to win big or hit the jackpot. Most people let it go after that, but there are others who will try to make a career out of gambling.

Saturn in that position can either limit us or bring form to something we love doing, but because of the square to the moon, I’m willing to bet that Saturn is bringing form to something, which will ultimately delay whatever the moon had in mind for us.

The bottom line is to be careful with fleeting pleasures. There’s an opportunity right now that we talked about in the Moon Scope article that involves something genuine and true. Things of that nature take time, but they’re well worth it in the end.

The moon in Cancer wants to bring us back to roots, back to family, and back to things that are familiar to us. She might even be looking to repair a broken or damaged relationship involving our mothers or wives.

I’m not one to shun the fun, but there’s a time and place for everything. Focus on what’s truly important.

April 26th Chart Shows Karmic Energy

Yesterday morning, in the April 26, 2023 Edition of my Moon Scope, I shared my interpretation for the Moon’s placement in the 1st House on the 21st degree of Cancer.

The hidden message was that it’s time for us to step out of our comfort zones. The universe was telling us that the time is right for us to shift our focus away from home and family and away from the familiar.

It’s time to break out of our shells despite what the people close to us might say or think. The energetic push is for us to be authentic, true to ourselves, and in aggressive pursuit of the unfamiliar people, places, and experiences that will promote new growth.

In a sense, after the break out, we must embody the characteristics of the huntress and become the personification of the Moon Goddess, Artemis.

Yes, this was my interpretation of the reading, and sometimes, when the universe sends us a message, curiosity gets the best of us, and we want to know why. We’ll, I didn’t need to look any further than the 11th House square (aspect) between Jupiter in Aries and the Moon in Cancer.

Squares reveal tension between the two planets involved, and the tension is karmic energy. Squares place obstacles in our path and make things difficult, but not to prevent our progress or to stunt our growth. The universe understands that it’s only through the struggles of difficult times that we learn certain lessons.

That’s what breaking out of our shells is all about, and that’s what pursuing unfamiliar people, places, and experiences for new growth opportunities is all about.

So, the square between Jupiter in Aries in the 11th House reveals the reason why. Jupiter represents abundance, expansion, and good fortune. The 11th House is the house of hopes and wishes, friends, social organizations, and the future.

Balancing the karma and working with the energies between the Moon and Jupiter can pay off big in the long run. A door to a brand new future can be opened, but it begins with “the self.”

I don’t think I need to go into detail because you should be able to easily see the cause and effect here. Breaking out of your shell will attract new people to you. If you’re outgoing and willing to try new things, you’re going to have new opportunities, learn new things, and discover new resources. You can build an abundant and more prosperous future when you go after what you want and live without fear.

Opening up and showing people a side of you they’ve never seen before will completely change this cause and effect energy and alter your future for the better!

Breakthrough! Astrology and Squares

There are many reasons for why I love astrology, but I enjoy something very specific about it. Through my spiritual path and journey of self-discovery, with astrology obviously being the tool, the more I learn about myself means the more I can help you learn about yourself.

Let’s start with the Sun. There’s lots to know about the Sun, but the most important thing to understand is that it represents the self, you. It also represents the father and those in authority.

There are tons of keywords, associations, parallels, and personifications when it comes to the planets, and sometimes it’s enough to make people close the book and walk away, believe me I get it.

But, if you take it on case by case basis, you’ll avoid that problem of feeling so overwhelmed that you become confused and discouraged.

For me personally, I’m trying to figure something out about myself in relation to authority figures, so that’s how I’ll interpret the sun in my chart.

What I’m looking at specifically is the square between my natal Sun and Uranus.

The Square is an aspect of 90 degrees. That means two planets are separated by 90 degrees, in this case it’s the Sun and Uranus. For those who don’t know, an aspect is the relationship between two planets or points in the chart. If you imagined the planets to be people, the aspect would describe their relationship.

Squares are challenging and stressful, they present obstacles, and teach lessons. But don’t get discouraged. Squares present the energy we need to achieve greatness. A person can develop tremendous drive and strength when they find ways to overcome.

All those sayings you hear like, “nothing worth having comes easy,” “seeing the sunshine sometimes requires us to travel through the rain” etc. That’s what the square is about.

To truly understand Uranus, you must keep in mind that it was discovered in 1786. That’s 10 years after America claimed independence. Uranus is the planet of change and originality. He’s revolutionary. He awakens and shocks and brings about sudden opportunities.

Uranus is in the 5th house of my chart. That’s the sector controlling creativity, short term pleasure, fun, and enjoying life.

So, I have a 7th house Sun squared with a 5th house Uranus. Uranus is exalted in my chart, and I’m an Aquarius (Uranus rules Aquarius) so fun, creativity, and pleasure can be had at the highest levels. At times they have been.

I think you can understand the relationship now with the sun, and that’s the breakthrough. A Sun in the house governing marriage, relationships, and open enemies, squared with a 5th house sun means basically, the devil’s giving you rope and it ain’t his fault if you hang yourself with it.

Also, because Libra rules the 7th house, harmony and balance come into the picture. I’m single and I’ve never been married, but I think if I find the right person, we can have a lot of fun together.

There’s so much more that goes along with this reading. What I wrote here is just the tip of the iceberg. Outside of myself, lets say the sun represents authority figures, then we can see the types of problems that can result from the energy present. Did Britain like when America claimed independence?

Authority figures like to maintain some form of control, some way more than others. So because of the square they’re not going to appreciate the sudden decisions, originality, and revolutionary nature of Uranus. When it comes to creativity, pleasure, and fun, there will always be obstacles. And there has been. This alignment and shared aspect is at the root of who I am and it is the focal point when it comes to fifth house matters and my relationship with authority figures.

Overcoming this alignment can bestow rare opportunities in life.

Where are the squares in your chart?
