Amazing Coincidence!

Last night I reconnected with an old friend, and we talked on the phone for hours, almost until the sun came up. Finally, in a desperation attempt to salvage a few hours of sleep, I had to force myself off the phone. This morning when I woke up, I noticed a utility vehicle parked on my street.

What I found most interesting, was the license plate on this truck was from the same state as the girl who I just got off the phone with not even five hours ago. I still haven’t figured out yet if this is all just coincidence, or purposefully designed.

Think about this. You live in New Jersey, and you spend all night on the phone with someone from Idaho, then you wake up three hours later and there’s a truck from Idaho parked on your street pretty much in front of your house, and a man is doing underground utility work. Strange? You better believe it.

Anyway, I probably should at this point, give the company a little publicity.

USIC is an underground utility location and damage prevention company, and they’re located in King of Prussia, Pennsylvania. Why their trucks have Texas license plates I do not know, but they are located in PA.

According to the man working on the street, “It’s a fleet thing.”

Okay, whatever that means.

I remember getting a ticket when I was driving in New Jersey with Pennsylvania license plates, but apparently it’s okay for certain companies to do it, and get away with it.

Um, no buddy, I think it’s an insurance thing, but I digress.

I actually wanted to interview the worker, and do an in depth story on USIC, but he said he needed permission to do that. I don’t know, apparently, workers at USIC have taken a vow of silence?

Whatever.

Alright everyone, have a good day!

NASA

Osiris REx is a NASA space mission that was launched on the eight day of September in 2016. Satellite Osiris, is supposed to visit NEO, near earth astroid, Benna, scoop up some space rocks, and return with a sample for observation and study. Osiris is due back to earth in 2023.

In case you didn’t know, NASA stands for the National Aeronautics and Space Administration. I didn’t know that. As a matter of fact, I thought it meant North American Spy Agency. Ah, who knew?

Outdated Books?

It was twelve years ago when someone bought me my first astrology book.  It was a Christmas gift, and I was so thankful.  Before the following year ended, I was hooked and totally interested in whatever this beautiful art had to offer.  As the years went and my studies grew more intense, an idea popped into my head.

I thought in order for me to learn astrology-like really learn astrology, I should probably buy books from the time when it was most widespread and popular.  Sometimes people hide information from you if they feel like you don’t need to know about it, but I wanted astrology in its rawest form.

The problem with the internet, or information on the internet, is that it can change right before your very eyes. Let’s take a site like Wikipedia for example, I love Wikipedia, but someone can go on there and change any details whenever they want.  Did you ever read something on the internet and then revisit the same article a year or two later only to find it changed or edited in some way?

Books, good old books will be around forever, and once they’re printed, they’re printed!  You can’t edit a paperback or a hardcover book, thus, the information in it, will remain as it was on the day it was published.

Why does this matter?  Well, besides for protecting your sanity, there was a statement someone made that everyone seemed to be in agreement with until recently;

“If we don’t remember our past, we’re doomed to repeat it.”

First statues, and now books.  Americans seem to be having a real problem with dealing with our past history.  React emotionally, destroy everything, and just throw it out-that’s the motto right now I guess, but burying our problems is archaic way of dealing with them.

My blog post is in response to an online article written by Madison Dapcevich, titled, “Did a Minnesota School Toss Library Books to Erase History?”

I don’t know the answer to that, and I don’t know if that was the case at all, however, I’m curious to know what the Media Specialist at Sunrise Park Middle School in White Bear, Minnesota, meant by “weeding out-outdated books.”

Can a book ever be outdated?  Maybe I’m a little bias here because of my love for books, literature, and writing in general, but I think the answer to that question is no.

A book can never be outdated-so my next question is, “What books has the Media Specialist personally decided to throw out?”

Did a Minnesota School Toss Library Books to ‘Erase History’?

Have a wonderful evening!

English YouTube Star Dead at 24

Normally, I try not to re-post news articles, but this article, because of its deep sadness, caught my attention.

I have know idea who she is, but English YouTube star, Nicole Thea, was found dead this past Saturday morning.  Thea, who was also a London based clothing designer, was 8 months pregnant.  Her unborn son, Reign, did not survive either.

The cause of death is unknown at this time.

This is such a sad story.  It seems like she had everything going for her, and at such a young age.

Road Raging On Pedestrians

I was walking down the street two days ago.  I was on the sidewalk walking in the direction with the traffic.  After almost a mile, I stopped at the corner to drink some water and catch my breadth.

There was a car stopped with its blinker on preparing to make a left hand turn.  The driver put her hand out of her window and waved me to go ahead and cross, but I was tired.  Like I said, I was catching my breadth and drinking water.

Eventually, she went, and as she made the turn she decided to put her window down and yell, “You have the right-away asshole!”

Now, if I could bring that woman back, I would say,

“You were so mad that I didn’t cross the street, you cursed at me, why?  I know I can cross the street,  I know I have the right-away-I’m a pedestrian.  I’ve been crossing street for 40 years, I understand the rules of the road.  If I waved you to go, but you decided not to, I wouldn’t have called you an asshole.  So tell me, why did that bother you so much, and why did you curse at me?”

You’re a grown woman, probably in your 60’s.  I don’t know where your anger is coming from, but please, don’t take it out on me.  Before we met at that exact crossing point, I had already walked a mile, but what I do is none of your business.

Maybe you need anger management classes.
