Atlantis; What If?

I never took the time to read Plato’s account of Atlantis, which happens to the source of everything we know about Atlantis. From what I’ve heard it’s not really long and leaves more to the imagination than we’d like to admit, but what if?

What if there was no Atlantis? What if this story about an island full of technologically advanced human beings that sunk below the Atlantic after some cataclysmic event never happened?

What if, Plato made up the story after visiting an island sometime during his lifetime?

I pulled this picture off Wikipedia-Atlantis. Athanasius Kircher‘s map of Atlantis, placing it in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean, from Mundus Subterraneus 1669, published in Amsterdam. The map is oriented with south at the top.

The picture on the left is a photo of Atlantis. If you look closely, you will notice Africa to the left, and America to the right. If this is accurate then that means Atlantis would’ve been in the Pacific Ocean somewhere off the Western Coast of the United States, and not the Atlantic Ocean like everyone claims.

This picture I snapped with my camera of an island I saw on Google Map.

The picture on the right is of an island I found on Google Maps. The island is named Mai’ao, and it’s located in the Pacific Ocean. Can you see the similarity between photos? They’re similar-eerily similar.

If what I say doesn’t resonate with you, then consider this; there are many scattered islands in the Pacific Ocean. Maybe, at a time long long ago, they were together and formed one huge land mass in between Africa and America in the Pacific Ocean.

Good Morning.

That shooting yesterday at the Sunoco 7 Eleven was the second gas station/convenient store shooting in Lehigh County in less than a year. The other ended up becoming a murder-suicide at the Rt. 100 Wawa in Breinigsville nine months ago.

Be careful.

It’s a Saturday morning, and this is kind of like a freestyle post me. Sometimes rappers freestyle, and you can do it as a writer to. Even if you have no material in mind-just start writing.

No rush,

No worry,

There’s not a reason for either.

Your path is waiting Keeper.

Nature is your teacher.

No doubt,

No fear,

It shall all become clear.

Evolutionary leap,

it seems out of reach,

but it’s not.

Stop and think on this,

It’s a decision,

That’s all it is.

Steven Segal?

For those of us who love watching movies, there grows at some point an appreciation for the character who become the “universal badass.” The universal badass is the guy who defies all odds. He could walk into a bar full of trained killers, and walk out without a scratch after kicking everyone’s ass.

Or, like Rambo, take on an entire police department, or a country-alone. The universal badass is a joy to watch, and overtime, he actually becomes humorous. In a way, he becomes our hero, but we laugh at him. Why do we laugh? We don’t really know, it’s just funny to see a guy do the impossible like beat up 20 guys at one time. We love him.

Over the years there have been a lot of actors like this, but in the late 80s and early 90s, one would come along that would forever change the game. Steven Segal. What makes Segal different from all the rest is that he somehow managed to take his character with him into real life. In real life he’s a martial arts expert so it makes you wonder if he can really beat up 20 guys at once. You never really know though, and he never really answers questions directly so a lot of his reputation is built through assumptions.

In real life he’s a political diplomat with residency in two other countries. In real life he was a police officer in Louisiana, and eventually he took on that role in a show called Lawman. He continuously finds ways of reinventing himself, but he takes it all in stride. We always seem to learn something new about him that he’s been doing for 40 years.

I guess in all seriousness, we’re trying to get an idea of what Segal is really like. We know his character on screen, but fans want to know what the real Steven Segal is like. He never lets us in though. After a while, we get upset, and we’re like, “Alright, is this guy full of shit or is he the real deal?” We may never know.

However, there was an article published recently on the online publication Page Six, and in the article, his ex-wife Kelly Lebrock speaks up. And suddenly, Steven Segal is no longer a mystery. Click the link below. Before I end this post, I just want to say I love Steven Segal, and my entire family have been fans since Above The Law. You still make us laugh, and we appreciate the memories.

What Would You Do?

The title of this post is an actual question I’d like you to think about. The Twilight Zone was turned into a television series in the 80s, and it was the second episode I believe that was titled “Button Button” where a stranger wearing a suit shows up at a random home with a special box.

There’s an ordinary couple living there who seem a little squirrely to me, but that’s beside the point; Anyway, the stranger gives a box with a button inside it to the woman living in the house, and he explains to her that if she opens the box and pushes the button she’ll be given $200,000 by him, and at the same time, a random person who they don’t know will die.

She has, I think 24-hours to decide. She relays the story to her husband and they argue about it for while, but eventually, they end up pushing the button.

What would you do?

Would you press the button?

Lunatic; What’s that Guy’s Problem?

Lunatic, the first chapter in my book, Smorgasbord A Collection of Thoughts Experiences and Stories had created quite a stir, and to be honest, I ignored all of it until now.

I didn’t feel pressured to revisit this piece, or like I owed anyone an explanation, but its been about a year now since the book hit the shelves, and I thought my readers would appreciate this.

Chapter 1

Lunatic

“I hate you! I’m so fucking angry, and I’ll kill you! I’ll kill you right now!” I looked at myself in the mirror, and that’s what I said before leaving the house. That was my pep talk. I don’t know what went wrong or what’s wrong with me; I just know that I go through these moments where I feel like I hate everyone and everything, and when I get this way, I have to do something crazy to ease the tension. Here I go.

The above paragraph is the first paragraph of Lunatic. This is a short story about a serial killer. If he isn’t speaking to himself then he’s thinking-so most of the story are his thoughts. It was my intent to open with something completely unexpected and shocking, and it was. I wanted my readers to say themselves, man this guy is crazy-on a deep level.

And I don’t know if anyone picked up on it but, the killer only killed on nights when there was a full moon. Another name for the moon is Luna (in Latin), hence the name, Lunatic.

If you haven’t purchased the book yet, you don’t know what you’re missing. There are 24 chapters over 133 pages, and honestly, the title is probably a perfect way to explain what it’s about. A smorgasbord is like a buffet of different foods-so it’s a play on words. It’s a smorgasbord of creative work-it’s a collection of thoughts, experiences, and stories.

What’s up readers, fans, and followers? Today is Friday! Finally, for most of us, the workweek has come to an end, and of course, it’s pay day. It’s another beautiful day here-sunny and 63 degrees. You should enjoy this weather while you can because the winter is fast approaching.

🦉 Days of the week, trees, and deities; what’s the connection for today…For Friday the trees are apple and myrtle, the deity is the Lady, and the association is birch. The Lady and the Lord are God and Goddess, and birch symbolizes purification, blessings, health, and beginnings.

💀 In a Florida nature reserve called Carlton Reserve the remains of a human body were found. The FBI and local authorities combed through treacherous conditions to recover as much as they could. Brian Laundrie, and his fiance Gabby Petito went on a cross country trip last month, but Laundrie retuned home without Petito. Eventually, Petito’s remains were found, and Laundrie disappeared when police wanted him for questioning. When the human remains and other items were found at Carlton Reserve, authorities suspected them to belong to Laundrie. It wasn’t until a dental record check was done that their suspicions were confirmed.

💥 No charges have filed yet against Alec Baldwin who is speaking out for the first time today about the so called “gun accident” that left one person dead and one hospitalized. Baldwin was on set filming a scene for his new movie, Rust, which required him to shoot a gun loaded with blanks, but some how and someway, the director and the director of photography were hit with either bullets or shrapnel?!? The investigation continues. Can you imagine that? Unbelievable. Didn’t the same thing happen to Bruce Lee’s son Brandon?

☠ So tragic, so sad, and so young. The death of Texas linebacker Jake Ehlinger happened in May, but his family just recently shared his cause of death. It was ruled an accidental overdose; xanax laced with fentanyl. Ehlinger was just 20-years-old.

Machu Picchu

It was in the early 1900’s that Machu Picchu was found, and the documentary I’m watching right now as we speak, said the Inca ruins were abandon for at least 4 centuries before being discovered.

I think that’s unbelievable and exciting.
