What’s All The Hype About? HBO Did it First.

After scrolling through articles in the WordPress community, I came across “From Blog, to Book to TV Show” written by Cheri Lucas Rowlands.

I guess it’s about the Diary of an Uber driver, one man’s journey to fame after giving someone a lyft while driving for Uber.

The article talks about this man’s experience (I don’t know his name) with a rider who opened up to him during the ride.  The next thing you know, he became famous from discussing his experiences as a driver.

Of course, I wanted to comment, but conveniently, the comment section was closed.  So, I’ll comment on my blog, Table Seven, where real discussions take place.

When I was in high school around 1996 or 1997, HBO aired a show called Taxi Cab Confessions.

It was about riders opening up and discussing all their personal business with different taxi drivers in New York City.  The show was awesome and a huge success, in my opinion at least.

Straight up, this guy came up with nothing new.  Congratulations man, but Taxi Cab Confessions did it first.

Have a good night originals.

Two Thousand-Twenty

And the old saying goes, “In like a lion, out like a lamb.”  Revelations 19 captured time from 1901 to 1921.  1921, the twenties were commonly referred to as the roaring twenties.  Roaring like a lion.  From 1922 to 1999 God left us alone.  Look at what took place during those years.

God came back in 2000.  Revelations 20 “And I saw an angel come down from heaven, having the key of the bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand.”  God stayed with us until year 2015.  Revelations 20:15 “And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.”

Once again he left us, and he will not return until the year 2100.  What will happen between 2015 and 2100?  We don’t know, but we do know when he returns he will return with, Revelations 21 “And I saw a new heaven and a new earth : for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea.”

My brother asked me two weeks ago, “what do think of the year 2020?’

“I think of vision,” I responded.

I don’t know when, and I don’t know who, but at some point someone came up with a system of measuring the health and power of our vision.

Recently, I not only listened to the Celestine Prophecy tape story, but I watched the movie as well, which got me thinking about our evolution as a species “the collective.”

We are evolving, and we’re doing it as a group as well as individually.  It’s not by chance that someone created a way to measure our vision strength, in which one of the results (20/20) coincides with a year that we’ll be living through.

It will be 2020 next year, and I really think we’re stepping into a moment of time that can be significant in some way.

2020 has been sitting in the back of my brain since 2012 so I’ve been waiting with great anticipation for this year to arrive.  I don’t know what it means to you, if anything at all, but to me, it could have something to do with a revelation of some kind.  Maybe an event that gives us insight or a view of something that could perhaps change our lives.

Maybe we’ll see something in a new way like never before, which completely changes how we go about dealing with something in our daily lives.  I don’t know, but when I hear 2020, I think vision, and very soon, I’ll be able to tell you what I think when I see 2020.

Writing; Beginning To….End?

I was six years old when I became conscious of my writing.  My father bought a football game for our Nintendo, and when he came home from work on Friday, we would play all weekend.  Me, my brother, and my father, yup, we played nintendo all weekend.

So one weekend, I grabbed a few sheets of paper and started making a sports page just like something you’d see in your newspaper.  I wrote about the games we played against each other.

If I played against my brother, and he used the Giants, and I used the Raiders, I’d write about the game between the Giants and the Raiders.  I had so much fun with it.  I wrote about how I was going to beat everyone, and they laughed and said bullshit.

If someone told me I would eventually go to school and get a degree in the Media/Journalism field, I probably would’ve never believed it, but it’s funny how things work out.   Truthfully speaking, my writing was something I never paid attention to despite the fact that it became apart of who I was at such a young age.

A while ago someone said to me, “Oh, you’re a writer?  Well, we all write don’t we?”  Yes Mr. Sarcastic, we all write, but writing is a talent.  Just because you write checks to pay your bills, that doesn’t make you a writer.  It’s an art, although I never looked at it that way.  I’m not trying to blow myself here, but I’m just saying.

I get really upset when I create something, especially if it’s sports related, and I write and publish it through my site, and all of a sudden I’ll see a company like FOX Sports, for example, publish something similar.  It’s probably coincidental, (that’s what I tell myself) but it still bothers me.  I’m very very protective of my work because the field of Journalism and writing in general is filled with people like Mr. Sarcastic.

Mr. Sarcastic is that person who has zero talent, zero writing ability, zero creativity, and absolutely zero fucking respect for the art and the people who are passionate about it, but he/she gets all the jobs in all the best places.  Mr. Sarcastic is the person who tells you to submit an article or ideas to him/her, but instead of publishing your work, he rewrites it, puts his own spin on it, and publishes it under his name.

When you apply for a job with the Mr. Sarcastics of the world, they know you need a job writing for their publication in order to publish your work, but they don’t hire you.  It’s a vicious circle.  Someone at some point has to give you a shot right?  How are you supposed to have writing clips if you can’t get a job writing.  Do you get it?  They’re asking for something you cannot possibly have unless you get hired.  Where does it begin?  How do you get your stinky foot in the door?

I graduated college in 2003, and let me tell you something about journalism, it’s lost.  It’s lost because like I said, it’s filled with Mr. Sarcastic.  Now, that’s not the only reason, but that’s a large part of it.

I can’t speak about journalism in the 1970’s because I wasn’t alive, but I graduated college in 2003, and I’m amazed at all the change the field has endured over the last twenty years.  Most of it being because of technology.

Let us get down to business here.🔥🔥  As a citizen of this country, it is your right to know the TRUTH about what’s going on.  Today, you keep hearing the term “fake news” thrown around, and what people mean when they say that is the news your getting is made up to forward an agenda.

As a journalist/reporter, it’s our job to give you the FACTS.  That is it.  Just the FACTS.  The TRUTH, well, that’s for you to decide.  The TRUTH, is something that will eventually come out.  As journalist/reporter we’re not supposed to be biased or give you our opinions about anything we write or report about.

What do we see today?  Biased and opinionated journalism.  It’s everywhere!  What happened to Journalism?  Ask Mr. Sarcastic.  Ask Mr. Sarcastic how long has it been since he stepped out of his office and went digging for a story.  When was the last time he pushed so hard to get the facts about something, he was threatened.  Ask Mr. Sarcastic how often he just rewrites press releases, or takes information from his news feed and feeds it to you.  At the highest levels, ask Mr, Sarcastic how much money he gets paid to follow the narrative, and report “fake news.”

What happened to journalism?  Is that what you ask?  Well, you’re asking the wrong question.  The question is, what happened to the Journalist.  Ask Mr. Sarcastic.

Afterall, it is Mr. Sarcastic that’s keeping the journalist out of work, but let us forget about Mr. Sarcastic for now.  He made his point, and we know where he stands.  He will never get fired.  We can’t beat him, he’ll never hire us, and honestly, we’ll never get along with him anyway, but we don’t have to.

This comes down to doing what’s right.  This comes down to doing your job the way it’s supposed to be done.  The best part about being a journalist, is that it’s your job to get the news.  It’s your job to get the FACTS.  We have a right to know what’s going on, and we have an obligation to the people we report to.

It’s a war.  It’s good versus evil.  It’s truth against lies and deceit.  Are you going to keep quiet, or are you going to speak up?  Are you going to follow a narrative, or are you going to wake up and break out to get the facts about an original story?  What kind of a person are you?  Are you a journalist or are you Mr. Sarcastic?  People always talk about our second amendment right being infringed upon, but what about our first?

Journalism has a whole lot to do with the first amendment.  Our first amendment guarantees us the freedom of expression by prohibiting Congress from restricting the press or the right of the individual to speak freely.

Amendment I

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.

-law.cormell.edu

This is why I say it’s a war.  If Mr. Sarcastic is in and the journalist is out, then we’re compromising our first amendment.  One time, I heard someone say, “we should need a certificate to be a journalist.”  Are you kidding me?  You have the first amendment giving you the right, what more do you need?  Oh, they’re looking for some type of regulation so when Mr. Sarcastic doesn’t let the journalist work, the certification will be some kind of background check that prevents him from ever getting hired within the business.  It’s another slander campaign against the individual.

No thanks.  Getting a degree made it difficult enough.  Remember, I was writing when I was six.  No regulations, no certifications, no restrictions.  (This is why the internet is regulated the way it is.)  Whenever you have a platform that enables you to reach people, someone has to be in charge of watching, listening, and regulating content.  They want to know what you’re saying, who your audience is, and if people are actually following you.  They laugh at us and say we write for no money, but they fear us because money doesn’t drive our content.

Journalism is lost because the journalist is without a home right now.  He/she is roaming the world wide web.   No one wants the journalist around.  Who’s going to let him/her in?  Where will it begin?

Here were are.  Thirty-three years later.  We’ve gone from the little boy writing sports articles about Nintendo games to, to this.  When the fuck did everything get so serious?  Oh, I forgot, it’s not serious as long as Mr. Sarcastic is around, because he doesn’t give you the FACTS.  He tells stories.  Like we’re children in a kindergarten classroom.  Dumb us down more please.  Thank you.

Have a good day everyone.

Table Seven Top 6, NCAA College Football Week 7

Welcome!  The NCAA College Football season is in it’s seventh week, and there are so many fantastic games scheduled.  It was difficult picking just six, but we did, and as always, NoozBuffet is serving up something….well, here it is.

The Table Seven Top 6

NCAA College Football Week 7

  1. (7)FLORIDA @ (5)LSU- Obviously, this will probably be the game getting most of the coverage this week, and rightfully so.  For Florida, it’s another undefeated opponent.  Game time is scheduled for 8 o’clock Saturday night, October 12th at Tiger Stadium in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.  The Gators are 6-0 and in first place in the SEC East.  LSU is 5-0, and they’re in first place in the SEC West.  Yes, Florida is on the road again this week, and yes, they’re playing another undefeated team, but I don’t think they give a crap after last week’s road win over (12)Auburn.  LSU had a big win of their own on the road earlier this season against Texas, but Florida, by far, will be their toughest opponent yet.  Offensively, the Tigers are ranked 3rd in the country with 571 total yards per game.  Impressive!
  2. USC @ (9)NOTRE DAME- Kickoff is 7:30pm, Saturday evening in Indiana.  USC is unranked, on the road, and they’re 11 point underdogs.  After last week’s loss to Washington, the Trojans are feeling the urgency, and now it’s a must win against a very good opponent.  Notre Dame is 4-1, and they recovered well after that 23-17 loss to (3)Georgia with a win over (20)Virginia.  Anything can happen in this game, and that’s why we picked it.
  3. (10)PENN STATE @ (17)IOWA- The kickoff is scheduled for 7:30pm, Saturday evening at Kinnick Stadium in Iowa.  Both teams have been looking forward to this game, and it would’ve been that much sweeter if both teams were still undefeated, but it’s Penn State that comes into this game perfect.  Iowa lost to Michigan last week 10-3.  The Hawkeyes were outstanding on defense, but their offense was hit with the turnover bug and couldn’t get it going.  Things must change for Iowa this week as they’re 3 point favorites at home.  If they can rediscover that mistake-free version of themselves we saw earlier this season, they should be alright.
  4. FLORIDA STATE @ (2)CLEMSON- This is an afternoon game scheduled for 3:30, and Clemson is a 27 point favorite at home.  The Seminoles are 3-2, and both losses were to ranked teams, unfortunately, they haven’t beaten anyone that good in comparison.  Florida State’s RB Cam Akers is decent, and they have two guys who can play QB, but will that be enough?  I wonder.  As good as Clemson is, and I’m not taking anything away from them, but I can’t see them going undefeated.  Trevor Lawrence is very good, but he’s a sophomore, and for that alone I expect them to lose at least one game.  North Carolina almost pulled it off, but a questionable coaching decision at the end of the game prevented them from mixing it up with Clemson in overtime.  It could be Florida State that actually does it.  UPSET ALERT!
  5. MICHIGAN STATE @ (8)WISCONSIN- Michigan State is 4-2, and Wisconsin is 5-0.  The kickoff for this game is scheduled for 3:30pm, at Camp Randall Stadium in Madison Wisconsin.  Classic!  Michigan State was on the radar until last week’s loss to Theeee Ohio State University, and the Badgers, who are ranked eighth in the country, just seem to keep rolling along.  Last week Wisconsin beat Kent St. 48-0, which was nothing more than a good tune up for this week’s game against the Spartans.  We’re still at a point in the season where teams are needing to prove themselves, and other than that win against Michigan, has Wisconsin actually been tested?  Michigan State would love nothing more than a win this week, and after rolling around with perhaps, the best team in the country, at least they know where they stand and what they got.  UPSET ALERT!
  6. (1)ALABAMA @ (24)TEXAS A&M- Saturday afternoon, October 12th at 3:30pm, the number one team in all of the country, Alabama, will take the field in an all out battle against Kellen “keep calm” Mond and the Texas A&M Aggies.  I don’t really know too much about Alabama except for the fact that they’re undefeated (5-0).  We’ve done a lot of research about Texas A&M and even featured them once this season, so I know how important it is for QB Kellen Mond to protect the football and extend drives on 3rd down.  Last week Texas A&M beat Arkansas 31-27.  Their two losses come at the hands of two of the Nation’s best, Auburn and Clemson, so if you want to mention battled tested, the Aggies are it, and now facing Alabama.  Alabama might be 5-0, but they haven’t played a ranked team yet.  On the road this week against a scrappy Texas A&M team who has already gone toe to toe with the best, well, this could be a dangerous situation for the Crimson Tide.

Walah!  (You like that magic humor?)  Out of so many, here are the six games we’re keeping in sight this week.  We hope you enjoy these games and every other one you might be interested in.  It’s going to be another great week of college football.  Don’t forget to check back here, at https://noozbuffet.com this afternoon at 3:00pm for our Feature Game Analysis, as we give you our pick of the week, straight up and versus the spread.  Table Seven is looking for win number 4 this week as we hope to improve our record versus the spread to 4-1-1! 🏈💰💰💲🔥🔥

Table Seven Seeking Change For “At Will Clause” 2

Hello everyone, how are you doing today?  This is obviously part 2, or the next in a series of updates regarding the “At Will” clause here in Pennsylvania.

Update:  The truth about “At Will” is that your employers (bosses, managers, supervisors, etc., can fire you without a reason, if you aren’t contracted.

The problem with At WIll, is that more often than not, you are getting fired a reason.  A manager, boss, etc., may have a problem with female employees for example, and decide to fire them.  He/she can never get in any legal trouble for violating federal laws against discrimination in the workplace because…

hey, it was “At Will’.  No reason at all.  I just felt like firing her.

This is what we should, as a community and state seek to remove.

Even if you are working at a local food store without a contract, you should never lose your job without reason.

But….if you’re….

Habitually late?- okay.

Not showing up?- okay

Stealing?- okay.

Damaging property?- Okay.

Physically Assaulting a co-worker or boss?- okay.

How about this one?  “At Will” works both ways too.  You as an employee can leave a place of employment without reason.  That’s right.  Walk right out.  You’re covered just like the employer is, but how many employers held your feet to the fire for making that decision, and said you weren’t rehirable because of job abandonment?   They always find ways to put the employee at a disadvantage, and keep people who they want, without a job.

I think it’s a good idea to start a petition.  Maybe, get out there on the streets, start a petition, and have whoever agrees, sign it, and then we mail it in.

Write in Pennsylvania, or anyone who wants help with this.  Let me know what you’re thinking.

Alright.  Have a good day.  It is a Monday, but we’ll get through it.  We always do.

Table Seven Seeking Change For “At Will” Clause.

Hello everyone.  If you’ve been following my blog, then you’re probably aware that we’re based in Pennsylvania, but personally, I’ve been living here since 2012.  As I’m slowly finding out, certain things are done differently here, especially when it comes to working and the relationships between employer and employee.

Employment at Will in Pennsylvania: The Basics

Since 1891, Pennsylvania has subscribed to the theory of employment at will. Thus, as the court noted in Stumpp v. Stroudsburg Municipal Authority 540 Pa. 391, 396 (1995), “as a general rule, employees are at-will, absent a contract, and may be terminated at any time, for any reason or for no reason.”

The above article was copied from the site, corporate.findlaw.com

This clause has been a real issue for me for the last two years.  Twice, I was fired from a place of employment for no reason at all.

I’m definitely going to get into the details a little later, but for now I’m going to keep it simple and tell you why I have a problem with this.

You could say that I’m upset because I was fired no reason, but the real issue here is that employers are using the At Will Clause/law as a shield.

You see, you cannot fire a person based on sex, race, religion, color, sexual preference, etc., but in Pennsylvania, they can and do and then hide behind the At Will Clause.

It is my belief that I was fired from the preschool I was working at because I was a man, but because of the At Will Clause, I didn’t have a leg to stand on.

If I had my way the At Will Clause would be removed, forgotten about, and never used again, but I’m going to need help.

DECEITFUL, ENVIOUS, JEALOUS, HATEFUL, and RACIST people who are also you’re bosses and managers are hiding behind the At Will Clause.

Lets hold these people accountable, and lets see why people like myself are really getting fired.  Is it really just because they felt like it?

Write in let me know what’s up especially if you live in Pennsylvania and have been affected by this.

I’m not lazy.  I’m not looking for a reason not to work, but for some reason, keeping a job has been difficult.  I’m passionate, punctual, educated, and I work very hard.  I haven’t given any employer a reason to fire me, but it’s not like they need one.

Follow our blog for details and updates.

Court Response; Way Too Coincidental

In January 2019, I decided I wanted to become a teacher again, but I don’t live in New Jersey now, I live in Pennsylvania.  In New Jersey, I already completed the Master’s Courses for a Teaching Certification in Early Childhood Education, and that was in 2007, but because I’m in a different state, different rules apply.

I tried to apply to the Master’s Program at Cedar Crest College, and they rejected my application.  Unbelievable!?!?

Anyway, I thought it would be a good idea to substitute teach because it would give me a chance to get some classroom experience again, and I could meet teachers and other professionals in the school system.  Perhaps, this would increase my chances of getting accepted into a Master’s Program, and I could get my Pennsylvania Teaching Certification.

I applied to the Substitute Teacher Service in March 2019, and part of that application process was a criminal background check, an FBI background check, and Child Abuse History Clearance, a TB Test, three references, and college degree, and the list goes on.

During my interview with STS, they said I might not be hirable until the school year of September, 2020 because I had a misdemeanor on my background check.  They said the law/rule is that if you have a misdemeanor 1, you have to wait 5 years until you can be cleared to teach.  I didn’t have a misdemeanor 1.

My paperwork went through, and STS hired me in April 2019, and I worked in the Allentown School District for the remainder of the school year.

In August 2019, I got an email saying that a company named ESS was taking over the Allentown School District account and STS was no longer in service there.

So now, I work for ESS as a substitute teacher in the Allentown School District, but I’m still an employee of STS.

I asked the person who hired me at STS if I could work in the Bethlehem School District since the Substitute Teacher Service still had that account, and she said she would forward my paperwork.  When she got back to me, she informed that Bethlehem wasn’t going to allow me to work in their district until the school year of 2020 because I had a misdemeanor on my background check.  She said I had to wait 5 years.

I argued back.  I told her we already covered this issue when you hired me.  Why is it an issue now?

She said Bethlehem reserves the right to choose who they want to work in their district, and I said, maybe that’s true, but you’re telling me they’re not hiring me because of the misdemeanor on my record.

Long Long story short, I called an attorney because I wanted to sue the Bethlehem School District and the Substitute Teacher Service for not letting me work during the 2019, 2020 school year.  That was two days ago.

Last night I had a dream that I was shitting in a stall with no door on it in front of the courtroom in Allentown  Everyone in court was laughing at me and the judge was taking pictures.

Today, I got served a letter that I owe the State of Pennsylvania 8,500 dollars.  I’m not really sure what that’s about, but that seems really coincidental.

Write in, and let me know what you think.  Alright everyone, have a good day.

Time To Be Frank, or whoever you really are.

Somewhere during the last twenty years, I lost myself,  I lost everything that made me, me.  I lost whatever made me Frank.

When you’re lost or lose yourself, you’re no longer a leader, therefore, you’re easily led.  If you don’t wake up, you drift further and further from your center because you’re being led astray.

In the absence of my shit, I’ve explored, I’ve experimented, and I’ve talked to people that otherwise, I wouldn’t have spoken to.  In the end, I became good.  Just good.  I immersed myself in studies and learned all about astrology, numerology, spirituality, meditation, and so on.  In doing so, I found something I was passionate about.

No more taking the wheel with the windows down on a hot summer night.  I traded in the Caddy for a station wagon  so-to-speak.  No more arrogance, no more outspokenness, no more Frank.  More listening, and less talking.

But… where has being good got me?  It’s gotten me ignored, it’s hard to find a job, and I haven’t had a romantic partner in seven years.  I bite my tongue now, and try my best to speak the truth.

People treat me differently because I’ve become a different person, but you see, there has to be a balance to this, and what I’m finding out is that people will shit, shit, and shit all over you as long as they feel like they can get away with it, and believe me, I’ve let people get away with some shit.  No more however, no more.

I’m not asking for anything anymore, because at this point, I almost don’t care.  If my life never turns out the way I thought, expected, or hoped,  than I guess it wasn’t meant to be, but…..

…..no matter how scared I may be, I will never be controlled by fear.
