Do you have any idea concerning the importance of this paragraph I found on Wikipedia?
The following paragraph was taken from Wikipedia:
Catholic Church concerns
In March 2009, the Committee on Doctrine of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops issued the document Guidelines for Evaluating Reiki as an Alternative Therapy, in which they declared that the practice of reiki was based on superstition, being neither truly faith healing nor science-based medicine.[35] They stated that reiki was incompatible with Christian spirituality since it involved belief in a human power over healing rather than prayer to God,[36] and that, viewed as a natural means of healing, it lacked scientific credibility.[37] The 2009 guideline concluded that “since reiki therapy is not compatible with either Christian teaching or scientific evidence, it would be inappropriate for Catholic institutions, such as Catholic health care facilities and retreat centers, or persons representing the Church, such as Catholic chaplains, to promote or to provide support for reiki therapy.”[35] Since this announcement, some Catholic lay people have continued to practice reiki, but it has been removed from many Catholic hospitals and other institutions.[38]
WOW!
In the paragraph above, I want you to understand something. The Catholic Church in 2009 took it upon themselves to evaluate Reiki. The audacity, right?
And after their evaluation, they came out and made a declaration to everyone.
We declare Reiki to be based on superstition, and it’s not faith healing nor is it scientific-based medicine. The Catholic Church goes on to say, reiki was incompatible with Christian spirituality since it involved belief in a human power over healing rather than prayer to God.
Conclusion
The Catholic Church attacked the natural healing art of Reiki. The Catholic Church could’ve just came out and said they wanted nothing to do with Reiki, but they took it upon themselves to share their opinion with the world, and tell everyone that it was superstition.
So, basically, the Catholic Church, who is also speaking on behalf of Christianity, is telling you that anything the Catholic Church itself is not involved with or is not science based, is superstition when it comes to natural healing.
That’s fine if the Catholic Church, Catholic Health Care Facilities, and anything else Catholic choses to stay away from Reiki, but why do they need to condemn it?
What is it that makes members of the Catholic Church feel they are closer to God than anyone else on earth? What is their problem with natural healing? What is their problem with earth and earth based healing modalities?
What is their problem with human power and the personal ability you and I have within to heal one another?
This whole thing is like 2,000 years ago. They might as well crucify someone, or burn witches at the stake.
I took this personally even though I grew up Catholic because I’m in the metaphysical field now, and although I’m not planning on specializing in Reiki Healing, I do believe in the myself. I believe in the human, and the human’s power within to heal.
I believe that you and I can wake up one day, and realize that we’re being called out by God to do God’s work, and that might not include a job at the Catholic Church. You and I can be just as close if not closer to God than anyone in the Church, Pope included.
This is the power that was stolen from us, and we do need to take this power back. Every individual needs to take his and her power back. I’m not going to say anything bad about Catholicism or their church, but I am going to tell you that anything is possible.
You don’t need the system, the establishment, or any political or religious institution to tell you what works and what doesn’t, but your mission is to find that out for yourself.
I will however, say this; as natural healing practices catch on and get popular, it’s going to put organized religion and science in a very interesting position.
You already know, from the paragraph above, that Catholicism has taken a stance against natural healing and Reiki specifically. Catholicism has aligned itself with Christianity and both are allies with science. If you go your own way and pursue God on your own, you’ll have science and religion against you.
“I have faith. My faith is deep, my faith is sincere, and my faith is genuine. When it comes to me, I know for a fact, that no human being can be better or closer to God. We’re all humans. If my personal practice produces the ability to heal another by natural means, I know that it’s because of my faith and my belief in God. The Church can never tell me my natural ability to heal naturally, isn’t faith healing. I came back here to be Kingly.”
