Wild Card Weekend

With all the excitement surrounding New Years and the College Football Bowl season we almost forgot about NFL’s Wild card weekend.

On Sunday, at 1:05, the (5)Chargers will visit Baltimore to play the (4)Ravens, and at 4:05, the (6)Eagles and (3)Bears kickoff in Chicago.

Evolve-Evolving-Evolution 🙉

If you’re not evolving than you’re….?

Devolving?  I guess that’s the word.  I’m not going to check the dictionary.  As we get older and the years pass by, were supposed to be evolving mentally and physically.  If were not than there’s some sort of blockage in the growth process, which can cause physical, mental, and eventually, psychological complications.

Happy New Year 2019

What is going on?  It feels good to back writing again after a two-week layoff, or vacation I guess I should say.  How were your Holidays?  What did you do for New Years?

I know it’s only the second day of the new year, but don’t forget about those New Year Resolutions you’ve made.  The fun part about this is that I’m right in stride with you.  I let myself go over the years.  I’ve made some bad decisions.

I’m back though, and you’re back too!  If you followed the blog last year than you noticed that there were several articles concerning mental and physical health, and that’s where we’re at now.  That’s where it’s at in general.

Twenty Nineteen is going to be about overcoming and persevering.  It’s time to get ourselves back in the right frame of mind, and get back in shape physically.

All of those things we gave up on and let go of over the last ten or fifteen years we’ll reclaim this year if it’s beneficial.

I don’t like to look to far ahead, but there’s a lot going on this year.  Don’t forget about us here at Nooz Buffet.  Make sure you check in with Table 7 regularly to get the latest information, news, and ideas.

Penn State Makes Citrus Bowl

(14) Kentucky vs. (12) Penn State

Today at 1:00 the Kentucky Wildcats and the Penn State Nittany Lions will kickoff the Citrus Bowl.  Penn State enters the game with a three game winning streak.  They’re 9-3 overall, and 6-3 in Big Ten play.  Kentucky is also 9-3 overall.  They’re 5-3 in the SEC behind Florida and Georgia.  This will be a good one.

Self Help 🔩💯💕

There’s a book out titled Feeling Good The New Mood Therepy.  The author is David D. Burns, and he claims anxiety, guilt, pessimism, low self-esteem, and other black holes of depression can be cured without drugs.

Below, I’ve rewritten his list, and it’s actually really good.  If any of those issues above are a concern for you then it might be a good idea to copy this list into a personal journal and keep up to date with it.

  1. Recognize what causes your mood swings.  (Write them down as they happen.)
  2. Nip negative feelings in the bud. (As soon as you feel them, push through.  Talk positive to yourself.)
  3. Deal with guilt
  4. Handle hostility and criticism
  5. Overcome addiction to love and approval.
  6. Build self esteem.
  7. Feel good every day.

If you can make sense out of this list then you’ll probably get a lot out of it.  Even though you might be plagued with some of those issues you can overcome them if you’re honest with yourself.  Those tips written in parentheses next to numbers 1 and 2, we’re added by me.

Good luck!

It’s The Most Wonderful Time Of The Year

Ah yes.  The holiday season has crept up on us once again.  It’s such a busy time.  Can you feel the excitement?

On Friday, December 21st, we can say goodbye to Fall and welcome Old Man Winter with open arms.  I’m not sure what the weather has been like outside of Eastern Pennsylvania, but we’ve had some pretty cold days here in the Lehigh Valley.

Do you celebrate Christmas?  Write in.  Tell us what your plans are for the remainder of this month and year.

New years Day 2019 is only a few weeks away.  Can you believe it?

Revelations 6

12 And I beheld when he had opened the sixth seal, and lo, there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became as blood.

Newsweek.com published a story titled, “Supermoon and Total Lunar Eclipse Bloodmoon To Coincide In Rare Celestial Event.”

Woah!  What the hell is going on?

Apparently, there’s some type of lunar concoction set for January 21st 2019.  There really hasn’t been much going on in the world of astrology as of lately, but this caught my attention.

I don’t obsess over it like I used to, but there’s still a place in my heart for astrology.  I don’t know what it is.  Maybe it’s the symbolism or perhaps the hint of science behind it all.

I loved the relationship between alignments and outcomes.  It was exciting to see if there was a connection between the placement of planets around the wheel and human events.

So I noticed some internet sites were talking about this upcoming lunar event since November, but I’m sure it was advertised much earlier.

The Bloodmoon is an omen signaling the end of times as we’ve seen written in scripture.  Revelations, The Book of Joel, and Acts all mention it in a similar way.

Scientifically or astronomically speaking, the Supermoon is when a full or new moon happens to coincide with the closest distance the moon reaches to earth during its elliptical orbit, which results in a slightly larger than usual appearance in size.  I like to call it the up-close and personal view.

The Bloodmoon is red, sometimes a deep blood red, and sometimes a reddish orange color.  This is caused by a term known as Rayleigh Scattering; it’s the elastic scattering of light or other electromagnetic radiation throughout the earth’s atmosphere.

What does all this mean?  I’m just going to say that I doubt it’s the end of humanity or the earth as a whole, but you should think about where you are in your life personally.  It could be a time of revelation for you.  There’s truth in that.

We’re definitely living during an interesting time.
