Feature Follow-Up

Saturday came and went, and we all saw Clemson win 24-10 over the Texas A&M Aggies. I know Texas A&M covered the point spread, but I really thought they had a shot at winning the game and stealing some early season confidence from the Tigers.

There isn’t much to say. Against a team like Clemson, you have to play a perfect game. Kellen Mond, the Texas A&m quarterback turned the ball over twice. He threw an interception late in the game in Clemson territory, and he fumbled ball early on. I’m not putting the loss on his shoulders, but like I said, you can’t turn the ball over and expect to beat the best team in the country.

I didn’t actually watch the game, but I did see the highlights, and I saw enough to know Clemson pretty much dominated the game. The score made it look closer than it was, but Texas A&M scored a touchdown with a few seconds left in the game. In my book, it was a 24-3 game, and defensively, Clemson dominated.

Offensively, Trevor Lawrence, played okay. He had a rushing touchdown, and one passing. Clemson WR Justyn Ross had 7 catches for 94 yards and a touchdown.

College Football Week 2

College football coming up this weekend September 7th.

(5) Ohio State

Cincinnati

Both teams are 1-0, but Cincinnati is one of those teams that play the Buckeyes tough.  They’re not that bad either.😉   Last season they finished 11-2 and ranked 24th in the final AP Poll.

Rutgers 1-0

(20) Iowa 1-0

Both teams coming fresh off a week one win, Rutgers held UMass to three scoreless quarters and won 48-21.  QB Nate Stanley threw for 252 yards and 3 touchdowns for Iowa in their win over Miami (OH)

Army 1-0

(7) Michigan 1-0

Last week Army beat Rice with a fourth quarter touchdown, and Michigan beat Middle Tennessee 40-21.

(6) LSU 1-0

(9) Texas 1-0

Here’s an early treat!!!🔥🤟  Last week LSU beat Georgia Southern by 52.  WR Terrace Marshall Jr. scored 3 touchdowns, and QB joe Burrow threw for 5 total.  Texas beat Louisana Tech 45-14.

Nevada 1-0

(16) Oregon 0-1

Nevada had a big win against Purdue.  Purdue dominated the first half, but the Wolf Pack scored 17 points in the 4th quarter and held the Boiler Makers to zero.  Nevada QB threw touchdown paasses and Toa Taua was quite busy catching and running the ball.

Oregon, well, they had a big loss against Auburn.  A win this week is absolutely necessary for the Ducks if they expect to remain in the Top 25.

Tulane 1-0

(10) Auburn 1-0

Auburn’s big win against Oregon gives them a tremendous wave of momentum coming into week 2.  Tulane beat Florida Intl. 42-14 in their season opener.

Obviously, the week two schedule will be full of amazing games this weekend, so there will be tons of action.  As always we’re extremely excited here at Table Seven and NoozBuffet.com for another football season.  You know, you wake up one morning in late August or early September, and you can smell the freshly cut grass.

The school busses are zooming around town, and late in the afternoons you can hear high school bands practicing, if you live close to a school of course, but the point here is that you know it’s time.  You can feel it, you can hear it, and you can smell it.  It’s football season.

Alright Everyone, Have A Wonderful Evening And A Fabulous Saturday.

Mond Is The Bomb; Texas A&M Primed For Upset Over Clemson

No, this is not a joke, Texas A&M could very well pull off an upset this Saturday, September 7th, when they play Clemson at 3:30, but in order to see this you must look past the cover.

The glamorous National Championship Trophy from last season, the then freshman phenom Quarterback Trevor Lawrence (who’s now a sophomore phenom), and of course, that impressive number one ranking are what we see immediately when we see Clemson, but it was this time last year that Texas A&M and Clemson played one of the most exciting games of the 2018 season.

A&M QB Kellen Mond threw a touchdown pass to Kendrick Rodgers with :43 left to play, and the Aggies pulled within two points.  Obviously, they didn’t convert, and the game ended 28-26.  Clemson won the game and went on to win the National Championship.

Kellen Mond and Kendrick Rodgers are back this season with a host of other players who were apart of a young Texas A&M team that was actually rebuilding in 2018.

If the Aggies beat Clemson last year it would’ve been an upset, and they came so close.  Clemson was winning the game 14-3 at half time, but it could’ve been 14-9.  A&M missed a field goal attempt and had one blocked.  It could’ve been a 14-9 game with Texas A&M getting the ball to start the third quarter.

The game was still 14-3 with 6:43 on the clock in the third quarter.  Texas A&M had the ball and they were driving when suddenly, Kellen Mond came up limping.  He left the game for a play and in his absence, the backup QB got hit and fumbled the ball.  Clemson recovered and scored on the turnover.

Mond returned to the game on the next possession and the Aggies scored on two plays.  The first was a 67 yard pass to WR Buckley who was tackled on the 9 yard line, and then, that amazing touchdown pass and catch.  Mond threw past five Tigers towards the back of the endzone, and Kendrick Rogers jumped and snagged it out of the air.  Texas A&M was trailing Clemson by 8.

On the very next drive Clemson answered with a touchdown of their own, and increased their lead 15.  The score was 28-13, but while you were up getting more potato chips, Texas A&M scored again on another touchdown pass from Mond, and just like that it was 28-20.

With 2:13 left, A&M fumbled and turned the ball over on Clemson’s 1 yard line, but they held the Tigers.  They got the ball back, and scored the games final touchdown with just under a minute to play.

I told you this game was exciting.  Texas A&M should’ve and could’ve won the game.  Don’t forget, they missed two field goals and turned the ball over twice from fumbling, and still, they almost upset Clemson.

It was also during this game that Trevor Lawrence threw a touchdown pass on his very first play for Clemson as a true freshman.

Here we are again, new season, same week, and both teams are 1-0 after winning their openers.  If last year was a rebuilding season for the Aggies then they should be a real contender this year.  I think Texas A&m will be mature enough and have enough confidence to win this game.

Texas A&M finished the 2018 season with a 9-4 record.  They had two huge wins over (13)Kentucky, and (8)LSU, and two of their four loses came at the hands of (1)Clemson and (2)Alabama who eventually played for the National Championship.

Perhaps it will be the Aggies playing for the National Championship this year, but let’s not get too far ahead of ourselves.

In Order To Run You Must…..

Like I’ve said, politics aren’t really my thang, but in my opinion there should be certain qualifications required of any and all candidates running for an elected position in government.

In order to run, you must;

a.  Be at least a second generation American, meaning, you’re the son or daughter of parents who were born and raised in the United States.  You the candidate, must be born, raised, and currently living in the United Sates.

b.  Attend a private institution for 4 years where you will intensely study and be taught the history of the United States from 1700 to present.  At the end of the 4 years you must pass a history exam.  Before leaving the educational training you must state your political views and how you plan to serve your country.  Then you will be granted the privilege of running.

c.  On a social media platform, where everyone in the Country had access, you will sing “God Bless the USA” by Lee Greenwood, and however many likes  👍you get, that will be your number of votes.

Alright everyone, this is just my opinion, and I’m entitled to it.  We do not discuss politics on noozbuffet.com and we probably won’t in the future, but every now and then, as a citizen of this country, it is important to weigh in, give your opinion, and get involved.

Have A Good Day

Next Level Dieting 1

Good Morning.

I’m not a chef, 🤣, let me start there.   The picture above shows what I ate for breakfast today, and in terms of what we all consider a full traditional breakfast (eggs, bacon, toast, etc.) I guess you could say this was a lazy man’s breakfast, but there’s something important going on.

“Next Level Dieting” is a term I coined, and it means exactly what is says.

Let me explain.

Next Level Dieting is finding a healthier more nutritious form of what you’re eating.  The food above is a cinnamon raisin bagel from Thomas’s, Jif reduced fat peanut butter, and fresh strawberries sliced on top.

This meal at its basic level looks like this:

Thomas’s raisin bagel, regular peanut butter, and either a strawberry jelly or preserves spread, but just when you think you’re eating healthy, you discover a healthier version of what you’re eating, and that’s Next Level Dieting.

Next Level Dieting Version:

Freshly baked bagel from a bakery (instead of the supermarket Thomas’s shelf brand)

Organic Peanut Butter (instead of a regular Skippy, or Jif brand)

Fresh Fruit- strawberries, raspberries, blueberries, etc.  (instead of a supermarket shelf brand)

What I ate this morning isn’t too bad LOL, (have fun with this), the peanut butter is reduced fat, and I used fresh strawberries instead of the strawberry preserve spread I had in the refrigerator, but we can always eat healthier.

The next time you prepare something to eat for yourself, think while eating, “how could I make a healthier version of this.  How could I make it…..Next Level?”

Ordinary Meal: Peanut Butter and Jelly.

Next Level Diet Version: Organic Peanut Butter and Fresh Fruit on a multigrain bagel.

Have A Wonderful Day

A Letter From Table Seven and NoozBuffet.com

Dear Readers:

And so here we are, the 26th day of August in 2019, and I said at some point, Nooz Buffet would eventually get a little more organized and specific in terms of content, which, right now, the timing couldn’t get any better.

I know the postings on here are random, we jump from one topic to the next because I’m covering what comes to mind, and what I encounter in conversations and outdoors living my life.

As we prepare for another year of blogging, news sharing, and content, we wanted to take a moment to thank everyone for following and reading along.

We always encourage dialogue and feedback.  Your thoughts and comments are important to us, and eventually, you the readers will have an important part in the direction we decide to go in.

Thank You.

Prisoner To Your Past?

I cannot speak for everyone, but there are some who’ve made decisions in their past that cost them in their future.

The whole idea behind growing up, changing, and becoming a better person is based on those decisions and the life we used to live.  Some people decide early in their lives what they want, while others just kind of go with the flow without placing any importance on decisions or future plans.

Some people live their lives doing what they want and assume when it’s time for things to fall into place for them, it just will.

If you’ve recognized the mistakes you made and now commit yourself to making better choices, then you’re at peace with what you’ve done.  You’re moving forward knowing your future will be better because you’re making good choices today.

There are people who loved you and still do, and if those people were around you when you weren’t making the best decisions, than you’re choices probably affected them as well because they cared about you.

Not being at the top of your game and getting in trouble causes the people who care about you to stress and worry, but even they, at some point, must let it go.

It’s like you’re trying to move forward, but they’re holding you by the back of your shirt.  They stand firm and you run in place.  No one is making progress.  It’s not healthy.

Believe me, some people don’t believe in second chances, and nothing makes them more upset than seeing someone overcome.  You’re successful now, but all they can remember is how bad you were and how bad you made them feel.  You have to get away from these people.  If they can’t get over your past, then they’ll never let go of the back of your shirt.

They’ll always be the overcast on your sunny day.

But what if getting away from them is the ultimate rock bottom?  Bum status?

Well, you’ll be a free bum.  There’s nowhere else to go.
