Table Seven Top 6, NCAA College Football Week 7

Welcome!  The NCAA College Football season is in it’s seventh week, and there are so many fantastic games scheduled.  It was difficult picking just six, but we did, and as always, NoozBuffet is serving up something….well, here it is.

The Table Seven Top 6

NCAA College Football Week 7

  1. (7)FLORIDA @ (5)LSU- Obviously, this will probably be the game getting most of the coverage this week, and rightfully so.  For Florida, it’s another undefeated opponent.  Game time is scheduled for 8 o’clock Saturday night, October 12th at Tiger Stadium in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.  The Gators are 6-0 and in first place in the SEC East.  LSU is 5-0, and they’re in first place in the SEC West.  Yes, Florida is on the road again this week, and yes, they’re playing another undefeated team, but I don’t think they give a crap after last week’s road win over (12)Auburn.  LSU had a big win of their own on the road earlier this season against Texas, but Florida, by far, will be their toughest opponent yet.  Offensively, the Tigers are ranked 3rd in the country with 571 total yards per game.  Impressive!
  2. USC @ (9)NOTRE DAME- Kickoff is 7:30pm, Saturday evening in Indiana.  USC is unranked, on the road, and they’re 11 point underdogs.  After last week’s loss to Washington, the Trojans are feeling the urgency, and now it’s a must win against a very good opponent.  Notre Dame is 4-1, and they recovered well after that 23-17 loss to (3)Georgia with a win over (20)Virginia.  Anything can happen in this game, and that’s why we picked it.
  3. (10)PENN STATE @ (17)IOWA- The kickoff is scheduled for 7:30pm, Saturday evening at Kinnick Stadium in Iowa.  Both teams have been looking forward to this game, and it would’ve been that much sweeter if both teams were still undefeated, but it’s Penn State that comes into this game perfect.  Iowa lost to Michigan last week 10-3.  The Hawkeyes were outstanding on defense, but their offense was hit with the turnover bug and couldn’t get it going.  Things must change for Iowa this week as they’re 3 point favorites at home.  If they can rediscover that mistake-free version of themselves we saw earlier this season, they should be alright.
  4. FLORIDA STATE @ (2)CLEMSON- This is an afternoon game scheduled for 3:30, and Clemson is a 27 point favorite at home.  The Seminoles are 3-2, and both losses were to ranked teams, unfortunately, they haven’t beaten anyone that good in comparison.  Florida State’s RB Cam Akers is decent, and they have two guys who can play QB, but will that be enough?  I wonder.  As good as Clemson is, and I’m not taking anything away from them, but I can’t see them going undefeated.  Trevor Lawrence is very good, but he’s a sophomore, and for that alone I expect them to lose at least one game.  North Carolina almost pulled it off, but a questionable coaching decision at the end of the game prevented them from mixing it up with Clemson in overtime.  It could be Florida State that actually does it.  UPSET ALERT!
  5. MICHIGAN STATE @ (8)WISCONSIN- Michigan State is 4-2, and Wisconsin is 5-0.  The kickoff for this game is scheduled for 3:30pm, at Camp Randall Stadium in Madison Wisconsin.  Classic!  Michigan State was on the radar until last week’s loss to Theeee Ohio State University, and the Badgers, who are ranked eighth in the country, just seem to keep rolling along.  Last week Wisconsin beat Kent St. 48-0, which was nothing more than a good tune up for this week’s game against the Spartans.  We’re still at a point in the season where teams are needing to prove themselves, and other than that win against Michigan, has Wisconsin actually been tested?  Michigan State would love nothing more than a win this week, and after rolling around with perhaps, the best team in the country, at least they know where they stand and what they got.  UPSET ALERT!
  6. (1)ALABAMA @ (24)TEXAS A&M- Saturday afternoon, October 12th at 3:30pm, the number one team in all of the country, Alabama, will take the field in an all out battle against Kellen “keep calm” Mond and the Texas A&M Aggies.  I don’t really know too much about Alabama except for the fact that they’re undefeated (5-0).  We’ve done a lot of research about Texas A&M and even featured them once this season, so I know how important it is for QB Kellen Mond to protect the football and extend drives on 3rd down.  Last week Texas A&M beat Arkansas 31-27.  Their two losses come at the hands of two of the Nation’s best, Auburn and Clemson, so if you want to mention battled tested, the Aggies are it, and now facing Alabama.  Alabama might be 5-0, but they haven’t played a ranked team yet.  On the road this week against a scrappy Texas A&M team who has already gone toe to toe with the best, well, this could be a dangerous situation for the Crimson Tide.

Walah!  (You like that magic humor?)  Out of so many, here are the six games we’re keeping in sight this week.  We hope you enjoy these games and every other one you might be interested in.  It’s going to be another great week of college football.  Don’t forget to check back here, at https://noozbuffet.com this afternoon at 3:00pm for our Feature Game Analysis, as we give you our pick of the week, straight up and versus the spread.  Table Seven is looking for win number 4 this week as we hope to improve our record versus the spread to 4-1-1! 🏈💰💰💲🔥🔥

Table Seven Seeking Change For “At Will Clause” 2

Hello everyone, how are you doing today?  This is obviously part 2, or the next in a series of updates regarding the “At Will” clause here in Pennsylvania.

Update:  The truth about “At Will” is that your employers (bosses, managers, supervisors, etc., can fire you without a reason, if you aren’t contracted.

The problem with At WIll, is that more often than not, you are getting fired a reason.  A manager, boss, etc., may have a problem with female employees for example, and decide to fire them.  He/she can never get in any legal trouble for violating federal laws against discrimination in the workplace because…

hey, it was “At Will’.  No reason at all.  I just felt like firing her.

This is what we should, as a community and state seek to remove.

Even if you are working at a local food store without a contract, you should never lose your job without reason.

But….if you’re….

Habitually late?- okay.

Not showing up?- okay

Stealing?- okay.

Damaging property?- Okay.

Physically Assaulting a co-worker or boss?- okay.

How about this one?  “At Will” works both ways too.  You as an employee can leave a place of employment without reason.  That’s right.  Walk right out.  You’re covered just like the employer is, but how many employers held your feet to the fire for making that decision, and said you weren’t rehirable because of job abandonment?   They always find ways to put the employee at a disadvantage, and keep people who they want, without a job.

I think it’s a good idea to start a petition.  Maybe, get out there on the streets, start a petition, and have whoever agrees, sign it, and then we mail it in.

Write in Pennsylvania, or anyone who wants help with this.  Let me know what you’re thinking.

Alright.  Have a good day.  It is a Monday, but we’ll get through it.  We always do.

NCAA College Football Week 6; Feature Game Follow Up

That’s right!  We did it again.  🎇🎆🤑  Table Seven is now 3-1-1 versus the spread, and we knew something fishy was going on after we saw Michigan give another point, but we locked it in at 3, and let em roll.  💲🔥💲🔥  We also picked Michigan to win this game and they did.

(14)IOWA @ (19)MICHIGAN

Q- Okay!  How do you shake off an early season loss to a team that’s still undefeated (Wisconsin) and prove to the NCAA world of college football that you’re for real and that loss was a fluke?

A- You beat the undefeated, 14th ranked team in the country (Iowa) at home.

I almost have to laugh because if you read the feature game analysis, you kind of knew, or at least had an idea that I was unsure about this game.  Statistics, consistency, and defense were pulling me towards Iowa.  I knew Iowa hadn’t really faced a top notch school yet, but they were playing good football-mistake free football.

On the opposite side of that, this was a must win for Michigan, especially after that loss to Wisconsin.  It was more than statistics and their performance up to this point.  For Michigan, it was now.  It was, no fu**ing way is Iowa gonna come to Ann Arbor and beat us.  So, with Michigan playing at home, I believed they would do what they needed to do to win this game.

Everything Michigan had to do to win this game, they did, but what’s really interesting is that they didn’t have to do too much of it.

What do I mean, you ask.  Well, we said if they couldn’t throw the ball against Iowa they were going loose, and as inconsistent as Shea Patterson has been, Nico Collins would save the day.  All that happened within the first seven minutes of the game.

Michigan’s first drive resulted in a punt.  On Iowa’s first possession, RB Mekhi Sargent fumbled and turned the ball right back over to Michigan, but Iowa’s defense is no joke.  They kept Michigan from scoring deep in their own territory, and the Wolverines settled for a three.  Moody kicked the field goal and Michigan was up 3-0.

Iowa’s next series resulted in another punt, and when Michigan got the ball back, Patterson went deep to Collins for a 51 yard gain, and Charbonnet ended up running it in for 7.  That was all of Michigan’s 10 points in 10 -3 win.

Remember how consistent Nate Stanley has been?  He also had a streak going; 136 attempts without an interception.  Michigan’s defense, which was ranked 3rd against the pass coming into this game, picked him off three times.  Nate Stanley was 23/42, he threw for 260 yards, and 0 touchdowns.

That’s a tremendous effort by the Wolverine defense.

The Hawkeyes didn’t do much to help themselves either.  They had eight penalties that cost them 60 yards, and they turned the ball over four times.  In a low scoring game that becomes a defensive struggle, protecting the football is ultra important.  The team that makes less mistakes usually wins, and this game was no different.  Iowa didn’t protect the ball.

Iowa’s defense played really well.  Michigan RB Zach Charbonnet had 13 carries, 42 yards, and a touchdown.  Quarterback Shea Patterson was 14 for 26 with 147 yards.  He was intercepted once and didn’t throw a touchdown all day.  Nico Collins was even bottled up and held to three catches.

Oh yes, a classic Big 10 rivalry game indeed; low scoring, good defenses, and a battle for field position.  With then dust settled, it was Michigan 10, Iowa 3.  Michigan is now 4-1, and they’re back on the radar.

This loss was Iowa’s first, they’re also 4-1.  Next week undefeated Penn State (5-0) is coming to town.  Uh oh!

Elsewhere….

(12)Penn State beat Purdue 35-7.  Texas Tech upset (21)Oklahoma State 45-35.  There was a huge win in Gainesville as (10)Florida beat (7)Auburn 24-13. Florida is now 6-0.  Cincinnati upset (18)UCF 27-24.  Cal was unsuccessful in their attempt to avenge last weeks loss.  Cal 7, (13)Oregon 17,  (4)Ohio State beat (25)Michigan State 34-10.

Another week of college football is in the bag.  I hope everyone enjoyed their college football saturday, it was a good one.  Table Seven is now 3-1-1 versus the spread!🎆🎇 We picked Michigan -3 to cover and yes, they did.  We also picked Michigan to win their game against Iowa, and yes, they did.  We’re excited, and we hope you are as well.  Don’t forget, every Thursday morning at 6 it’s the Table Seven Top 6, and then in the afternoon at 3:00pm, it’s the Feature Game Analysis.  Follow us.  Like us.  Win money with us!

Table Seven Seeking Change For “At Will” Clause.

Hello everyone.  If you’ve been following my blog, then you’re probably aware that we’re based in Pennsylvania, but personally, I’ve been living here since 2012.  As I’m slowly finding out, certain things are done differently here, especially when it comes to working and the relationships between employer and employee.

Employment at Will in Pennsylvania: The Basics

Since 1891, Pennsylvania has subscribed to the theory of employment at will. Thus, as the court noted in Stumpp v. Stroudsburg Municipal Authority 540 Pa. 391, 396 (1995), “as a general rule, employees are at-will, absent a contract, and may be terminated at any time, for any reason or for no reason.”

The above article was copied from the site, corporate.findlaw.com

This clause has been a real issue for me for the last two years.  Twice, I was fired from a place of employment for no reason at all.

I’m definitely going to get into the details a little later, but for now I’m going to keep it simple and tell you why I have a problem with this.

You could say that I’m upset because I was fired no reason, but the real issue here is that employers are using the At Will Clause/law as a shield.

You see, you cannot fire a person based on sex, race, religion, color, sexual preference, etc., but in Pennsylvania, they can and do and then hide behind the At Will Clause.

It is my belief that I was fired from the preschool I was working at because I was a man, but because of the At Will Clause, I didn’t have a leg to stand on.

If I had my way the At Will Clause would be removed, forgotten about, and never used again, but I’m going to need help.

DECEITFUL, ENVIOUS, JEALOUS, HATEFUL, and RACIST people who are also you’re bosses and managers are hiding behind the At Will Clause.

Lets hold these people accountable, and lets see why people like myself are really getting fired.  Is it really just because they felt like it?

Write in let me know what’s up especially if you live in Pennsylvania and have been affected by this.

I’m not lazy.  I’m not looking for a reason not to work, but for some reason, keeping a job has been difficult.  I’m passionate, punctual, educated, and I work very hard.  I haven’t given any employer a reason to fire me, but it’s not like they need one.

Follow our blog for details and updates.

Court Response; Way Too Coincidental

In January 2019, I decided I wanted to become a teacher again, but I don’t live in New Jersey now, I live in Pennsylvania.  In New Jersey, I already completed the Master’s Courses for a Teaching Certification in Early Childhood Education, and that was in 2007, but because I’m in a different state, different rules apply.

I tried to apply to the Master’s Program at Cedar Crest College, and they rejected my application.  Unbelievable!?!?

Anyway, I thought it would be a good idea to substitute teach because it would give me a chance to get some classroom experience again, and I could meet teachers and other professionals in the school system.  Perhaps, this would increase my chances of getting accepted into a Master’s Program, and I could get my Pennsylvania Teaching Certification.

I applied to the Substitute Teacher Service in March 2019, and part of that application process was a criminal background check, an FBI background check, and Child Abuse History Clearance, a TB Test, three references, and college degree, and the list goes on.

During my interview with STS, they said I might not be hirable until the school year of September, 2020 because I had a misdemeanor on my background check.  They said the law/rule is that if you have a misdemeanor 1, you have to wait 5 years until you can be cleared to teach.  I didn’t have a misdemeanor 1.

My paperwork went through, and STS hired me in April 2019, and I worked in the Allentown School District for the remainder of the school year.

In August 2019, I got an email saying that a company named ESS was taking over the Allentown School District account and STS was no longer in service there.

So now, I work for ESS as a substitute teacher in the Allentown School District, but I’m still an employee of STS.

I asked the person who hired me at STS if I could work in the Bethlehem School District since the Substitute Teacher Service still had that account, and she said she would forward my paperwork.  When she got back to me, she informed that Bethlehem wasn’t going to allow me to work in their district until the school year of 2020 because I had a misdemeanor on my background check.  She said I had to wait 5 years.

I argued back.  I told her we already covered this issue when you hired me.  Why is it an issue now?

She said Bethlehem reserves the right to choose who they want to work in their district, and I said, maybe that’s true, but you’re telling me they’re not hiring me because of the misdemeanor on my record.

Long Long story short, I called an attorney because I wanted to sue the Bethlehem School District and the Substitute Teacher Service for not letting me work during the 2019, 2020 school year.  That was two days ago.

Last night I had a dream that I was shitting in a stall with no door on it in front of the courtroom in Allentown  Everyone in court was laughing at me and the judge was taking pictures.

Today, I got served a letter that I owe the State of Pennsylvania 8,500 dollars.  I’m not really sure what that’s about, but that seems really coincidental.

Write in, and let me know what you think.  Alright everyone, have a good day.

Feature Game Analysis; NCAA College Football Week 6

Hello!  What’s up err’body?  I hope you enjoyed reading the Table Seven Top 6 this morning.  This here is our Feature Game Analysis.  Our NCAA College Football Week 6 game of the week is (14)IOWA at (19)MICHIGAN.

i

(14)IOWA @ (19)MICHIGAN- Saturday, October 5th at 12:00, the Hawkeyes and the Wolverines will get after it, and Michigan is the favorite at home by 3 points.  Iowa would like to extend their winning streak to five games and remain undefeated this season.  They would also like to break into the top 10 Nationally.  That’s what they would like to do, but wait a minute.  Where the heck did Iowa crawl out of?  Out of nowhere apparently, but they are ranked 14th, and they’re undefeated (4-0) so we must give some credit where it’s due.

Iowa’s best win this season was that 18-17 game against Iowa State.  Iowa St. was ranked at the time.  Last week Michigan beat Rutgers 52-0, but Iowa also played Rutgers in their second week and won 30-0.  Hawkeye QB Nate Stanley is very consistent, and he doesn’t turn the ball over.  He has thrown for 965 yards and 8 touchdowns thus far.  WR Ihmir Smith-Marsette has big play potential as does Tyrone Tracy Jr., but they’ll have to work extra hard this weekend against a Michigan defense that’s ranked 3rd against the pass.

In the backfield, Iowa looks to Mekhi Sargent to carry the load, which he has proven himself capable, but 5′ 11″ 223 pound senior Toren Young is a battering ram averaging over 7 yards per carry.

Michigan is 3-1, but they really need to shake off that 35-14 loss to Wisconsin.  It’s unfortunate that that game came in the first week of the season, but what can we do.  Wisconsin is still undefeated, and so far, that was Michigan’s only real test.  Since then, well, they beat Rutgers and Middle Tennessee State convincingly, and struggled in an overtime win against Army.  A win is a win though I guess.

We do know Michigan’s QB Shea Patterson has been picked off twice, and he’s only completing 59% of his passes.  He should get some help from WR Nico Collins.  Collins is a big boy who’s averaging 21 yard per catch.  He also has 2 touchdowns this season.

Iowa and Michigan to me, is one of those classic Big 10 games.  Today it’s Big 10 East versus Big 10 West, but still the same.  Michigan, in my opinion, is inconsistent and unproven, but they’ve shown flashes of some very good things against some not so good teams.  Playing at home must give them some advantage.  Iowa, although they haven’t played some of the better teams in the conference yet, seem to be very consistent and mistake free.  They also have a very good defense.  It’s ranked 10th against the run and 5th overall.  If Michigan can’t throw the ball against Iowa they will not win this game.  Straight up!  I think Iowa will play some really good defense this week, and offensively, they have enough to keep Michigan off balance.  I really want to say Michigan is going to win this, but I don’t know.

Feature Game Winner

Michigan

Feature Game Winner Versus The Spread

Michigan -3

There it is.  We think playing at home will give Michigan the edge in this game versus Iowa.  We also think Michigan will cover the 3 point spread and bring us to 3-1-1 on the season.  We hope you enjoy this game and all the others this weekend.  Thanks for reading, and don’t forget to log on to https://noozbuffet.com Sunday, October 6th, for the Feature Game Follow Up!

Table Seven Top 6; NCAA College Football Week 6

Welcome friends to the Nooz Buffet Table Seven Top 6.  This is where we share our top six NCAA College Football games to watch.  Just a reminder, it is week 6, and as we continue to get deeper into the season, we’re going to see who’s who.  Now, lets see what’s what for this week.

  1. (18)UCF @ CINCINNATI- This game will be played Friday night at 8 o’clock.  Cincinnati is an underdog at home.  On September 7th they had a big loss to the Buckeyes 42-0, but they’ve played well since.  Last week they defeated Marshall 52-14.  If you remember, UCF had that one point heartbreaker loss to Pitt 34-35.  Last week they showed up for their game against Connecticut.  Right now, UCF is 4-1, and they need every win they can get in a ranking system that’s not very friendly.
  2. (14)IOWA @ (19)MICHIGAN- Kickoff is scheduled for Saturday afternoon at 12:00.  Michigan is the home favorite here, and they’re 3-1 overall.  The Wolverines look for running back Zach Charbonnet to continue being productive.  He’s averaging 4.5 yards per touch and 3 touchdowns this season.  Iowa, whoa!  Where did you come from?  Iowa is 4-0 and ranked 14th.  Their biggest win this season was against rival Iowa St.  The Hawkeyes have a trio of running backs that bring something to the table, but Mekhi Sargent seems to be “the guy” with 54 carries and 2 touchdowns.  This a huge game for both teams, as Iowa would like to remain undefeated and break into the top 10.  As for Michigan, they need to prove they can play with the big boys.  They lost the only test they’ve had so far, 35-14 against Wisconsin.
  3. PURDUE @ (12)PENN STATE- Here’s another game that kicks off Saturday afternoon at 12:00.  Penn State is (4-0) undefeated and a big time favorite at home in Happy Valley.  QB Sean Clifford is completing 66% of his throws, and he has accumulated 1,179 yards and 9 touchdowns.  He also has a rushing touchdown, but whatever.  Purdue is 1-3, and their only victory was a 42-24 win against Vanderbilt.  They really don’t have much going on in the backfield, and arguably, the better QB Jack Plummer isn’t getting enough playing time.  Any offensive issues could be magnified this week against a Nittany Lion defense that gives up just under 10 points per game.  Something is funny here though.  We think Penn State will overlook this game against the 1-3 Boilermakers in anticipation for next week’s banger against undefeated Big 10 rival Iowa.  Purdue might just catch the Nittany Lions with their pants down.
  4. (7)AUBURN @ (10)FLORIDA- This is a huge game scheduled for Saturday afternoon at 3:30 in Gainesville, Florida.  Believe it or not, Florida is a sight underdog at home.  Yes, they are.  Both teams are undefeated with five wins.  There isn’t much to talk about here from a statistical standpoint because after this game is played we’ll know a whole lot about who’s for real and who’s not.  Whoever it is, will be 6-0 and a serious contender for the National Championship.  Let’s just put it that way.
  5. (25)MICHIGAN STATE @ (4)OHIO STATE- Game time is Saturday evening at 7:30 in Columbus, Ohio where the Buckeyes are favored at home by about 3 touchdowns.  Ohio State is undefeated (5-0) and blowing teams out.  Seriously, they win big.  (I’ve been a fan since 1996, just saying) Last week they beat Nebraska in Lincoln 48-7.  Michigan State is no slouch though, and history tells us the Spartans will be prepared to play a mistake free game.   They only have one loss this season, and that was to a very good Arizona State team.  Michigan State is ranked 25th nationally, but their defense is ranked 7th overall.  This game will be closer than we think.
  6. CAL @ (13)OREGON- This will be a Saturday night game, and kickoff is scheduled for 8:00.  Oregon is 3-1 and favored at home.    Duck’s QB Justin Herbert is completing just about 75% of his passes.  He has also thrown 14 touchdown passes!  On the receiving end, Johnny Johnson III has 22 catches and 264 yards.  TE Jacob Breeland is also very good.  It’s going to be interesting to see how Cal comes back after losing to Arizona State last week.  They were ranked 15th, but hey, where’d they go?  Come back Cal!  Remember this is the same Cal team that gave Washington their only loss.  Oh, I forget to mention, Cal’s starting QB Chase Garbers could possibly be out for the season.

There you have it!  This weeks top 6 NCAA College Football Matchups, and of course, this is our opinion.  Don’t forget to check back this afternoon at 3:00 for our NCAA College Football Week 6 Feature Game analysis.  We’ll tell you who we think will win straight up and who will bring in the money as we attempt to go 3-1-1 versus the spread.  Thank you for reading and have a wonderful day.

Thank You Thank You

I promised.  I promised myself and my readers that I would give less attention and less of my time writing about negativity and experiences that upset me, but finally, finally, finally, finally, someone actually apologized.

The corner store near my house opens at 6am.  I got there at 5:45am and waited outside in the parking lot for the doors to open.

At 6am the lights go on, and the woman inside behind the counter walks towards the door to unlock it.  I’m at the door waiting to greet her.

When she opens she tells me there’s no money in the register, and the woman who is in charge of the cash is on her way.  In charge of the cash?  Really?

You just opened the door, but you don’t have any access to the cash that belongs in the register?

Anyway, I said okay and I returned to the parking lot to continue waiting patiently.  The lady who runs the cash register shows up about five after six, and finally they’re ready to serve me at about ten after.

With an attitude, she asks me what I want, and after I tell her, she rips open the glass doors that encase my item.  She pushed those glass doors so hard, I thought they were going to shatter.  Then she turns around and insults me for coming to the store so early.

If you’re a retail manager, and you run a convenient store, shouldn’t you want people at the door with money for purchases?  Yes.  Are you supposed to judge your customers after they purchase items in your store?  No.

Look, if you’re miserable and upset about something, you’re not supposed to take it out on your customers.  You should be thanking your customers for supporting your business.

You should be happy that people want to come to your store and see your face at six in the morning.

I’m going to leave it at that.  I can feel this post beginning to snowball out of control as I’m now thinking back to that morning.

I did want to mention though, this is the same store I left because the Manager was threatening me during meetings.  He would also blow me off and tell me I was lying when I expressed my concerns about things that were happening to me in the store during working hours.  I walked out.

Thank you for the apology.
